I feel your pain! I really wish the drops on these cards were so much shorter! I don't want it to be crazy easier, but if they could just give us something to assist, it would be more helpful, and I could see even more players using them. What the title says. I don't expect it to be 1 card every 2 games or something like that, but it could have some sort of hidden buff where the drop rate improves with a win streak. I defeated an NPC 40 times and I just go 2 cards... the same card twice! I still need the other 2 drops (yeah, I'm talking about THAT npc) and I'm scared I'll be stucked there forever.
I think the focus for the NPCs should be on their difficulty, not how bad the drop rates are.
Recently got into TT.
Sometimes i was lucky and got cards relatively fast, sometimes it got more than 100 wins to get a card with a reported drop chances of 10%.
The undisputed worst offender is Kiuka. That was the epitome of anti-fun.
Edit: Have been clearing my TT backlog. 125 wins to get Hildy. While Hab deck is relatively easy to beat, it's just so tedious. I know some people get lucky and get the cards in their first 5 wins, but such low drops rates are not fun.
Raubahn too close to a hundred wins as well.

Sometimes rumors are just... rumors.
Sorry for the necro post but as long as we're talking about card drops, I'd like to ask them to have the Archbishop Thordan card drop from the normal version as well as Thordan EX. I think it may be one of the only cards that only drops from the EX version and I think it would make it more streamlined if it could also drop from the story version of the fight.
Necro it all you want because this won't get any better if we don't keep making a stink about it, card drop rates are absolutely abysmal. I don't mind playing a few games of TT to get a card but winning for minuscule chance at possibly winning a card with a super lower drop rate? That doesn't enrich the gameplay, it just artificially extends the length of time you'll spend playing TT.Sorry for the necro post but as long as we're talking about card drops, I'd like to ask them to have the Archbishop Thordan card drop from the normal version as well as Thordan EX. I'm surprised they don't increase the drop rate on older cards the way the increase the drop rates on mounts from older trials.
Like, I'd probably get into Triple Triad (if only for the lore on each card) but there's just such an incredible number of cards that the grind is just TOO off-putting.
Every patch is exactly the same.
That's it. They know TT exists, they know 4 star cards are useless, they must have data on the participation rate, but they keep ignoring it and just pile more cards and NPC's that we'll never use. I'm not sure why they bother really.-New cards have been added.
-New NPC opponents for Triple Triad have been added.
I'm annoyed that one of the new Triple Triad cards is an achievement for having 300 cards total. There are 301 cards, so your margin of error is to only be missing one card. That's pretty harsh, given the circumstances of how you get some cards. I'm at 291 now but I'll probably have to wait until patch 5.4 dropping even more cards before I even have a chance.
Actually the 301st card is the card you get for the achievement, so you need to get every last single card in the game to get that achievement. Pretty brutal even for those of us who try to keep up. Locking a card behind Memoria Misera, an extreme trial people have no real reason to farm and is quickly becoming dead content was a pretty dumb design choice. Card should have been added to the Imperial Triad Pack in 5.3.
Oh right. >_< Somehow I was not doing the right math. But that definitely circles back to the few cards that are only available through EX fights. I'd love to see them be available as a drop in the regular fight, or from an NPC. I hope eventually they also make the Nier raid cards available from an NPC, like they eventually did with a lot of the Heavensward raid cards. If you never got the cards from the 24 mans, there is an NPC now in Idyllshire that you can duel for them.
A lot of triple triad cards are locked behind something tho. Like beast tribes max rank, entire quest chains, Eureka, stupidly low drop rates from card packs (by my estimate i spent like 700k MGP to get both Warrior of Light and Zidane), literally a million of MGP (Cloud says hi) or in case of Thordan and Varis an Extreme Trial. Currently level 70 Stormblood dungeons are a problem as well, you can't unsync it solo and getting a farm group for them is hard since there's no point running the dungeons aside from glamour.I'm annoyed that one of the new Triple Triad cards is an achievement for having 300 cards total. I am at 276 currently. Still missing 4 cards from Eureka, most of Stromblood dungeons and those MGP sinks.
They also added a NPC to Kugane for Ivalice cards, so i think it's likely. But that definitely circles back to the few cards that are only available through EX fights.
