Thread: Things I would like to see for 5.0

Below are a few ideas that I think would be useful if implemented. Most of them are simply QoL changes, while others are more of an alteration on existing mechanics. I understand that many will not agree with these, and that's totally okay, feel free to add your thoughts on things you'd like to see.

Track Achievements:
This became far more desirable for me when I leveled up my tank. I am currently pursuing the Battle Bear mount, and opening up the Achievements menu and scrolling down after every dungeon gets tedious. I am aware that it's about 15 seconds (if that) of fidgeting to find it, but it would be a nice change to monitor your progress in real time.

Socializing in Duty Finder:
It's time to remove the restrictions on whispers and accessing your friends list in Duty Finder. For those that wish to remain in the black out, there can be an option that allows the player to continue not receiving messages. You can even take it a step further and make the current restrictions only apply to your first time in a duty. That way their focus is solely on the duty itself.

Friends list:
In addition to the Duty Finder restriction being lifted, I'd like to see a notification when people on our friends list logs in or out. I searched for an option to make this happen and could not find anything.

More glamour for male characters:
This game has a ton of female characters in it. As a consequence, many of the armor sets are tailored more toward the feminine (a good example of this is the Alphascape healing chest). As it stands, male characters don't have a lot of options for armor sets that aren't dresses, or floral patterned robes, or some outfit with a huge bow on the back, etc. I understand this may trigger some people because it's 2k19 and that's the new thing, but understand that this is a game, and I'd like my male warrior to not look like it just came from a drag show.

More male Miqo'te faces:
As it stands, there are very few to choose from. Out of those few, 3 of them look like they're taken from a 12 year old boy. The only one that looks as if it's an adult face has markings that you cannot remove.

Additional timed retainer missions:
Currently, we have a choice of 1 hr or 18 hr. A 10 hr mission would be a good addition to the list. My reasoning for this is to set the mission before bed, and check it when you wake up, plus or minus one hour.

One large bag for retainers:
I would like to be able to talk to my retainer and open one large bag, rather than 5 small ones; it gets very irksome when trying to find something in them. Same amount of space, just exposed in one window.

Inventory search feature:
Please, please, please add in an inventory search feature (not to be confused with "Search for Item"). My bags become so crowded with things (especially if I'm out gathering or crafting), that when it comes time to find stuff, I have to scroll over each item and check their name. While the sort option is very handy, there are some items that sort just can't help locate. Example: before I knew what Minium was, I was looking for it in my bags. I have no idea that it was red sand on paper. The icon just looked like a letter with one of those wax seals on it. Sounds ridiculous, I know, but I can't be the only person who encounters issues like this.

While I know that these will never come to pass, I wanted to express my hopes for some helpful adjustments. Thanks for your time!

I'm fairly certain there is an option for seeing when your friends log out, it should be under chat settings, specifically under the tab you're editing.

I'm also fairly certain that your wish to see whispers in duties will never be realized. I had a similar conversation with someone earlier in the month and we came to the conclusion that it's some how hard coded into the system based off the fact there are a few things you can't access in duty. The solution? Well rather than tear down the system and start over it would be much easier to manipulate the system into giving people pseudo fc chat, thus linkshells were born. This might change in 5.0 though, who knows.

I thought we have an achievement tracker that if you set it will let you know when one is nearing completion. Though I do wish there was a quicker way to know which achievements are under which category as some things that are battle related aren't under that tab.

the retainer mission is 18hr because most people go to bed and send off their retainers but then they don't get back on again until they've finished work the next day - most ppl don't get up and immediately check the game before work.

I hope you mean more faces in general, right?
Customisation is very limited for most races. Female Elezen in particular need more faces. Out of the four faces they have half of them look the same.

You are wrong about gear bending more towards female characters.

The vast majority of gear has a masculine look to it. Casting robes are not femenine.

There are a couple things on these two items you can do already - the large bag, you can go into your options and change the display window where it will show more than one section at a time. How it spaces itself out is not changeable last I checked, but you can have 4 of the smaller bags show at once. Two windows for a retainer vs five.

On the inventory search, if you know what you are looking for, type in "/isearch item"

If you type in "/isearch lumber" it will list all of the items you have in your inventory across all retainers and bags that have the word "lumber" in them. From those results, click on the item name and Search for Item. It will show where precisely they are, which quality, etc. Just as a tip though, stick to one word though - don't try to search for "/isearch bone white dye" because it will only search for bone.

He means he wants all retainers to have a shared inventory instead of having to click through 3 different prompts, not including getting past the intro and outro text.
