Honestly, I think this is the best way they've handled the grindy relic so far. Having it's own thing; being it's own path towards gearing. The relic weapon has mostly been a novelty in my eyes even if it's effective. But HW's relic was a real low point if you ask me. It was a 2nd tome weapon. Why have two tome weapons? ARR's was all about fates and reusing outdated dungeons pretty much.

I get that some people don't like Eureka but want a relic, but I just have one thought: perhaps the obtaining a relic isn't supposed to be a forgone conclusion. Excluding tome stuff, you kinda have to go out of your way to get most gear and by that I mean there is only one way to get any particular piece at least when it was relevant. Do savage for the raid gear, Heaven on high for Empyrean, Eureka for relic. Seems pretty normal to me.
