Mildly confused DRG. Piercing Talon Question.

In every MMO you get those rude individuals, but one last night truly confused me. Running Saint Mocianne's Arboretum (Hard) with a DRK, SMN, AST, and me (DRG) and doing large group pulls.
I found I was somehow pulling accidental aggro off the tank with my Heavy Thrust > (Doom Spike > Sonic Thrust*> Jumps to build up for Nastrond) combo. No biggie, I just switched targets when this happened, tank got aggro back quickly, and B4B kept me healthy till he did.
Then randomly the SMN screams, 'Find your fucking Piercing Talon button DRG! This is some f***ing re****ed shit!'
My questions is... Why? I didn't ask the person, because I don't deal with people like that. But I've only ever found PT to be good for pulls while solo and for doing some dps while dodging AOEs (provided it won't break a combo already in progress before having to move out of range). Has it been more useful that I realized and should be using it more often? Or was I being griefed by some foul mouthed edgelord?
For full disclosure, no one fell even once during the dungeon. It was a quick and clean completion.

Hhmmm I only use Piercing Talon in the cases you mentioned, pulls for solo and damage attack when moving away from an AOE.

Id argue he thought Piercing Talon is your AOE. You did nothing wrong there. Piercing Talons only niche is when you are forced outside of every other skill's range and you wouldnt break any combo with it.

No idea what that person was talking about, but one question: Are you using diversion? That should definitely help you avoid generating too much enmity with your attacks.

Tbh, no. I've never used diversion before. I don't usually pull aggro off the tank very often. And when I notice I'm about to I just switch targets or slow my dps a bit. This run was strange. I was pulling aggro weirdly fast and didn't have time to compensate before I'd already accidentally stole it.
Why, is diversion something I should definitely take as a DRG? My usual choice for role actions has been Second Wind, Bloodbath, and Invigorate, Leg Sweep (because that was originally a LNC/DRG skill before they took it away from us and I want it back >.< It's mine!), and then Feint for my fifth skill just because.

Diversion is something that you should have on all DPS jobs that can take it. Since you’re allowed 10 slots for role actions now, you don’t have to worry about picking and choosing which ones to use.

That being said, I have no idea why the SMN was yelling about Piercing Talon. I’m wanting to hope he maybe mean Elusive Jump, since it cuts your aggro in half. But the two don’t even have remotely similar names, so I don’t even know what he was getting at there.

As a minor correction, I meant I used Bloodbath to keep me healthy, not blood for blood. I don't know why I screwed up those names in my head ^^;

I agree, you should consider diversion for all of your DPS jobs and that that SMN might indeed be trying to say Elusive Jump... either case, from all the responses here, you should no longer think whether you were doing something wrong.

Now don't I feel dumb ^^;;; But in my defense, last time I opened the Roles Action menu it was only five, I set my five, and never opened the menu again. Thank you for the heads up, and I know what I'm correcting when I get home XD

I want to thank all the responses to the thread. It's put my mind at ease as well as taught me things and reminded me of some things.

I had completely forgotten Elusive Jump reduces aggro ^^; I'd been using it so infrequently and only to cure heavy and bind (WHEN IT'S SAFE! When it's safe. I'm not one of *those* DRGs... anymore XD) I had forgotten entirely. And now I know I can add more role actions. Thank everyone.
