Frustrated

I was trying to do the main level 60 instance quest "one life for one world" as a Summoner. I have never been so frustrated with a quest before. I saw a youtube video on it and searched for comments in completing it. Needless to say, I found many people got upset with this quest. Since I can't continue my main scenarios until I complete this one, I just may not renew my subscription, what's the point?.. anyway, jury is out on that, I may try again at some point.

Is your gear up to date?

Kill the lala healer, kill whoever is attacking you, charge sword.
Rinse repeat.
Don't be tempted to aoe all of them or bother with any of them that aren't attacking you.

The main problem I ran into is the Warrior of Darkness focusing on me when I tried to give aether to Alisae (interrupting me). If you don't attack him, eventually one of your allies will take him off of you, so just keep trying.

Its probably a gear level thing as a big part of it (a lot of people try doing this stuff in really substandard gear and wonder why they cant beat it). Now Im not a summoner main so take this next part with a grain of salt but have you been using EVERYTHING in your kit? Ive seen people complain in game about quests like these and when you ask them "Have you tried using your tank egi to peel for you" the response I get is "Tank egi is dumb! No one uses it!" Now Im not a summoner, but I know a minion that can voke mobs off you so you can have more space to do other things in the fight would kind of be useful? Im not saying do the entirety of the fight with tank egi either. Just when you need it, and pull another one out when you dont.

Point is you have a pretty expansive kit and if youre geared but still failing, it might be youre not using your kit to its fullest potential or your strategy for the fight isnt being thought out.

I did a reply earlier but looks like I screwed up and it didn't work so I'll try again. I had tried the quest 3 times and I never died, just Duty Failed. My gear is the level 60 poetic totem gear so it's fine. In the last 2 tries, I managed to give her ether but the duty still failed shortly after. I also used my tank pet. I may try it later using my level 60 Dragon which is also geared with totem gear. Good advice above and will keep that in mind, thanks.

You probably shouldn't use Titan-egi as it's important to burn down whoever you need to be attacking ASAP so you don't end up with multiple targets causing trouble simultaneously.

Yes, you are right Kage. After reading the walk through link by Brynne above, I can see using the pet tank would cause a problem. Thanks Brynne for the link, I think I understand now how it works. I plan on trying it next using my Dragon job but I'm not in the mood now but will later

Based on this info, I'm guessing Alisae was killed and that's what ended the duty. Make sure to target enemies who are attacking her first and foremost.

Here's a breakdown of how it should work

- Take the healer down
- Get derplander out of your face so you can charge Alisaie's sword when called.
- Toward the end of the fight, the Mi'Quote Bard needs to be kept dead as she will focus down Alisaie cause you to fail the duty. This is the part a lot of people seem to miss.

I seem to remember having to occasionally free up a Scion to help charge Alisaie's sword the first time I did the duty, but that didn't seem to happen the second time I did it on an alt.

Incidentally, my first attempt was on a Summoner - second time on my Dragoon alt.
