    WHM wishlist for 5.0

    These are the things I wish to be part of 5.0 for White Mage
    • Shell, an spell that works like the PVP Protect (earth-based)
    • An water-based attack spell
    • A revamp to lillies to it finally make sense tracking it
    • Keep the assize buff, please?
    • Keep the PI buff, please?
    • Don't be abandoned, like the trailer can suggest (Urianger will be an AST while Y'shtola swaps to BLM)

    Keep the Assize buff, yes. With both Indom and Earthly Star being so strong, 300 potency is really outdated.

    Give them utility. Please just do it already, you obviously will never buff our damage because you don't consider healer DPS during balancing, so give us utility already.

    As weird as it sounds, I hope Cure III is taken off the GCD. I feel like SE treats Cure III as this godly spell that must be balanced around when it's really just not that good anymore, both because SCH and AST oGCD healing has become so strong, and because content doesn't require it.

    Not to mention its limited utility...I can't recall the last time I used CureIII because PUGs don't stack.

    Keep buffs? have the been discussing taking them away? But I think they should remove protect and make it an actual cool down like the pvp version. idk if it's whm only I just want another ability and not have to have people pester me for a useless one DX

    They made it very clear that these are temporary buffs and that they will probably be changed by 5.0.

    Ah. Well I do hope they make whm dpsing more engaging. I love the theme of it and started as a cnj. But I've always enjoyed sch gameplay more. It would be nice to have some more stuff to throw at enemies besides holy and Aero III. And I hope they get rid of Indulgence or at least rework it. Personally it feels like a wasted ability. You have to use other healing spells to proc it and by the time you've used those you won't need indulgence in the first place. If they made lilies like Aetherflow where they were used one at a time and indulgence would replenish them that would be awesome.

    But I would understand if people don't want that kind of thing. But I personally think more classes need a 'charge' system of some sort.

    I do feel Yoshi-P's comment was less about the buffs being a temporary fix and more of a warning to players to not be surprised if the changes get reverted, which implies they may also keep them. We'll find out in five months from now (probably less actually if we get some pre-release conferences where people can play with alpha/beta builds of the expansion)

    Stone skin and stoneskin II back. I don't know how many times in lower level dungeons I've had tanks wait for a shield before pulling bosses when I don't have one. Perhaps change Divine Bension even to Stoneskin III and keep it as is.

    I'll also echo a lilly re-work. Make them something we plan around, not totally ignore as they effect play so little especially with Secret of the Lilly II.

    Why was stoneskin spells removed?
    It's not like you could even use stoneskin II while in combat.
    They were nothing game breaking but were nice to have.
    Divine Bension is not a proper replacement.

    Stoneskin was useless 99% of the time - where the only good application of Stoneskin was if weakness reduced the player's HP far enough where they needed all the eHP they could get to survive the upcoming mechanic(s). This is why it was removed from the WHM kit.
    • Cure II was the same MP cost as Stoneskin
    • Cure II could be cast faster than Stoneskin (OG version, the trait in HW changed that, but I'd prefer the +HP% versus the faster cast)
    • Cure II generated more eHP than Stoneskin (making it the more MP efficient tool)

    I wish people would stop asking for the return of Stoneskin unless they suggest changes that would make Stoneskin useful in the current iteration of the healing kits. Bringing back OG Stoneskin will not do anything about making WHM more useful.

    Divine Benison is a proper replacement for Stonekin. Even though Divine Benison's HP% is less than AAR Stoneskin, it's still much better just because it's an oGCD, making it a free and on demand eHP barrier that at most clips the WHMs GCD for 1s. When it was a GCD (Stoneskin), you had to compare it to other healing tools in the kit and it was absolutely inferior to Cure II in 99% of the scenarios you could use it.

    I would say Divine Benison could be argued to be worse than Stoneskin when it required the Lily to use it - but now that the Lily requirement has been removed it's a great tool for the WHM kit.

    Pardon my aggressive stance - I just get tired of people wishing for a spell to return when it was something you didn't want to cast the vast majority of the time.
