What is this fairy tail here? She is not dead she in a different world?
Copy-pasting from my past posts because I've already written it in two different topics this week.

    Minfilia never died.

She was taken - alive, body and soul - by Y'shtola's Flow spell to Hydaelyn in the aetherial sea, where she became first incorporated into Hydaelyn as the "Word of the Mother", then a free emissary who would travel to the First Shard and prevent the Flood of Light from overtaking it.

"Word of the Mother", cutscene 2: After the Antitower, you first see Minfilia as the 'Word of the Mother', and she explains what happened. Because of Hydaelyn's weakness, at the end she struggles to hold her form and seems to shatter and vanish.

Patch 3.4: Urianger pulls his grand scheme to get you and the Warriors of Darkness together, which somehow causes your crystals to channel energy to Hydaelyn and you all get warped to the aetherial sea.

"One Life for One World", cutscene 4: Minfilia appears again and says that because of the extra strength Hydaelyn has gained because of this, She has been able to set Minifilia free to act as Her emissary to the First Shard. (It's implied that she's basically an anti-Ascian at this point - the title of emissary suggests a direct opposite to Elidibus.) To save that world, we are told, it may be necessary for her to remain there forever.

    And yet as she departs...

    MINFILIA

'Tis a strange feeling. So many times have I watched you depart, my heart filled with worry, and yet ever did you return to me in triumph.

Someday, when I have found a way to free this star from Her sorrow, I promise you I shall repay the favour.
We watch her go, afraid that we may never see her again. But someday, she promises, she will return to us in triumph. That's the sort of promise that tends to get upheld in a story.

It doesn't sound at all like a permanent farewell to me.

I knew it wasn't permanent. I'm griping about the writers that continually elevate her to a place of importance when she's not actually doing anything for the story. She's got more power of the "chosen one/main character" than we, the PCs do - but we've actually earned ours. She just gets it because the writers give it to her.

My prediction is that she's going to be received with tears and amazement and gratitude, she'll spend most of her time uttering cryptic nonsense and fluttering about "the mother", she'll get into at least one terrible scrape (because she's innocent and vulnerable) that people get hurt/worse to rescue her from - and in the end she'll either "make another sacrifice" with a martyr-like countenance, or someone (Thancred) will try to sacrifice themselves for her as if it were worth losing a seasoned fighter over a 6 year old we constantly have to spend resources to protect for no good reason.

It especially irks me that Thancred and her mother idolize her out of guilt of their own past actions, of depriving her of her father, unintentionally... she's far from the only one in the game who has lost someone, so can we give it a rest? Especially as she was a grown woman who needed to be carrying herself, not being carried (except when she suddenly magically has Hydaelyn's powers because of course she does.) And even if she's a child now, she should still have the mind of an adult; if this is, instead, alternative past events then why does she get the chance to atone for her past worthlessness when we've seen other people eat what Fate gave them no matter how absolutely unfair it was.

    Looking foward for it.
Honestly I wouldn't have minded that nearly as much throughout ARR if there was a damn Aetheryte in Vesper Bay.

I hope we will kill her in the 5.0 + story as a servants of darkness, and the warrior of light will be spitting bile on her about how many stupid things we have done as a servant of her super lazy a55.
Plz Yoshi, we need vengence for that 1.0 MSQ.

This. All the developers needed to do. Don't know why they still won't add an Aetheryte there.

For myself Minfillia was never annoying to me so I 100% do not understand the intense hate for her but the one thing I do hate is what I agreed on from above. Its just like how we didn't have an aetheryte in Sapphire Avenue(?) in Ul'dah for the longest time until recent years. Not Minfillia'a fault the developers never thought to try sticking an aetheryte in Vesper Bay. Personally, the blame should go to the developers for not using their head on that one and also getting Minfillia out in the field more as one other person said.

They explained it in the MSQ right before we moved to the Rising Stones in Moar Donuts.
It was because of pressure from the Syndicate in Ul'Dah, and affinity for one nation above the others when we had to remain neutral. They refused to place an Aetheryte there unless the Scions would favor them, or something. I can't remember how they worded it, but they basically wanted the Scions under their thumb.

You understand this is a fictional world right? The aetheryte is placed by the will of the developers, not the fictional Syndicate. This was a bad game decision that resulted in many players resenting Minfilia because of it.

A lot of hate originates from multiple factors such as having to return to the Scion base all the time to discuss things (as you said) while not giving a proper explanation for why it must be done this way through linkpearls, no one see how Minfilia benefits the Scions despite many times it been stated she is the politician of the group that has to deals with political issues Scion's face, negoitations with trade, and forming alliances that if not dealt with will justify corrupt politicans of all City states to attack them in different means (all which Alphanuld does now but been stated less effective at these tasks since he has wated a huge amount of Scion's bugget doing these things), and Minfilia is not a "combat-Master/Expert" while everyone else are badass combat-Masters/Experts.

Alphanuld, compared to Minfilia, has become more liked overtime because players have gotten to not only see him grow from his naive self (the version of him people dislikes) but actually be by his side majority of the time when he does the political things Minfilia use to do off-screen. Not to mention he can fight for himself which has been the biggest plus for certain people since they seem to dislike major characters who are not experts in combat.

XIV has a habit of making stupid choices, knowing we hate them, and then mocking us for it by then making it canon as to why/alluding to it in quests (just like the ******* dramaturge on the Prima Vista who mocks you for hating to do fetch quests.)

Nonetheless, I could have had a free teleport that took me to Minfilia's side wherever she was whenever I had to talk to her and I still would have resented her for being a poorly written, unnecessary character.

I'm not just talking to hear myself talk you know, they did allude to why there is no aetheryte in Vesper Bay in the MSQ when talking about moving out of the Waking Sands. You do understand there are politics in play in this fictional world right? Or are you the type that just skips through every cutscene in the story?
