You understand this is a fictional world right? The aetheryte is placed by the will of the developers, not the fictional Syndicate. This was a bad game decision that resulted in many players resenting Minfilia because of it.They explained it in the MSQ right before we moved to the Rising Stones in Moar Donuts.
It was because of pressure from the Syndicate in Ul'Dah, and affinity for one nation above the others when we had to remain neutral. They refused to place an Aetheryte there unless the Scions would favor them, or something. I can't remember how they worded it, but they basically wanted the Scions under their thumb.
Well as I still say many times, Minfilia did go out of the waking sand but it was mostly off-screen events. A lot of hate originates from multiple factors such as having to return to the Scion base all the time to discuss things (as you said) while not giving a proper explanation for why it must be done this way through linkpearls, no one see how Minfilia benefits the Scions despite many times it been stated she is the politician of the group that has to deals with political issues Scion's face, negoitations with trade, and forming alliances that if not dealt with will justify corrupt politicans of all City states to attack them in different means (all which Alphanuld does now but been stated less effective at these tasks since he has wated a huge amount of Scion's bugget doing these things), and Minfilia is not a "combat-Master/Expert" while everyone else are badass combat-Masters/Experts.
Alphanuld, compared to Minfilia, has become more liked overtime because players have gotten to not only see him grow from his naive self (the version of him people dislikes) but actually be by his side majority of the time when he does the political things Minfilia use to do off-screen. Not to mention he can fight for himself which has been the biggest plus for certain people since they seem to dislike major characters who are not experts in combat.

Like why / how she is still alive? And in this childlike form? Are you excited she returns, etc.
already talking about in lore section...

As i said back in that post...
My guess, from seeing this type of plot before from old mangas I use to read that already ended, it is a "Yes and No" answer.
Yes, this is Minfilia returning from the impossible and now a child.
BUT!
No, this will not be the same Minfilia personality wise because she may have lost her memory about her old life as 2.0 Minfilia and thus the WoL basically "raise" her to become a new character that grows up to have a different personality from the "old" Minfilia.I say this plot maybe one of those "Good vs Evil of Light" storylines.
Child Minfilia may represents the Good aspect of Light that is willing to give other people a chance and takes into consideration not everything related to Darkness is Evil but then we have these "Agents" of Light that is seeking to kill Minfilia and "clense" the world of Darkness.
I consider this "Agents of Light" faction to be the Evil of Light, or simply the extremists faction, which represents the extreme part of those who follow the Light such as absolute belief all aspect of Darkness is Evil and only way to bring "true" peace is the complete destruction of Darkness. Such as those stories where Humans and/or Angels treat all Demons/beast-kin/etc as Evil and seek to clense them from the world but then the story shows Demons are no different from Humans other than being different race and thus have both good and evil aspects to them just the same as anything else.
Killing Child Minfilia maybe similar to removing all aspect of doubts in a "person", being the Light, and leaving the only part of Light left being the Evil aspect of Light that does whatever it takes to destory Darkness forever even if it means "cleansing" the world of semi-innocent lives to leave only the most pure aspect of Light.

FFXIV 5.0 Waifubringers
I hope Thancred is going to be the father figure she never had that can teach her to respect other people's time and use her goshdarn linkpearl the way it's supposed to be used.

Looking good looking gooood

I’m happy she’s back but at the same time. I don’t really care.

The first time I've ever wished murder on a child in a video game (and I played Skyrim.)
I'm not a lolicon but... i want to protect that smile.
