Update - 2/7/19
Still noticing the version update issue today. But again, going into my FFXIV sub folder from F drive on steam common apps, and running as admin, it works. So, not sure what to consider is causing the problem so far.

Elkanah, good afternoon and thank you for the the update.
The error you are describing happens when the system you are playing on is not able to connect to the game. What network set up do you have? Are you using WIFI or are you connected via Ethernet cable.
Hope to see you online !

I'm using a Wired connection through AT&T. I normally always use wired via ethernet cable on my PC.
Thank you for the reply.
Please try changing the settings on Internet Explorer as the game launcher uses IE. Use the following:
Open the IE browser, open the "Tools", go to "Internet Options" and adjust the following settings:
- Under the "General" tab, please delete ALL browser history.
- Under the "Security" tab, please move the slider to the lowest possible settings or no higher than "Medium"
- Under the "Privacy" tab, click “Advanced” and select ‘Accept’ under both First Party and Third Party Cookies.
- Under the "Advanced" tab, please make sure that "Allow software to run or install even if signature is invalid" is CHECKED.
- Make sure that all SSL and TLS (EXCEPT SSL 3.0) are CHECKED. [SSL 3.0 should be UNCHECKED]
- Hit "Apply" to save the settings, and then "OK, to close the Internet Options menu.
- Right-Click on the FFXIV launcher icon and select "Properties"
- Go to the "Compatibility" tab, and change the compatibility mode to "Windows 7"
- Hit "Apply", then "OK" to save the changes.
- Please RESTART your PC now. Once your PC has been restarted, Right-Click the FFXIV launcher icon once more and select "Run as Administrator"
Additionally, please make sure exceptions through the firewall and antivirus programs.
Hope to see you online!

So, it looks like I might've needed to update the game with the ShB preorder stuff. Cause I did the steps above, and then entered my codes on the mogstation, rebooted my pc and then tried again, and it didn't ask or tell me of any update issues. Hopefully this will be the last of it. I'll update by tomorrow to see where I'm at and if it's continuing to have crash notification issues!

Hmm, doesn't seem to have issues opening or showing the update error anymore. Can't say it's resolved yet, as it could be a string of luck lol. For now, I'll wait it out between 24-48hrs and report back if there's any other issues in the mean time! So far, looking good though!

Update 2/10/19
Today, still not seeing any issues popping up with the game anymore. So, for the time being, I believe the issue has been resolved. Worst case scenario, I'll open another ticket if needed! Thank you very much!
Thank you for the update Elkanah. I'm glad your issue has been resolved.
This thread will be moved to the 'Closed Concerns' subforum as the issue has been resolved.
Thank you for visiting the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums.
