My Computer freezes when trying to play

Every time I try to play FFXIV my computer freezes up after about an hour and all i can do then is to reset. I know for a fact all my drivers are up to date. I've tried almost every solution possible to me. I've googled this problem relentlessly.

Our systems are fairly similar. Does dxdiag.exe show any issues?

My windows looks to be newer? Not sure how the numbering works but mine is:

I don't know how to check if Dxdiag.exe is working or not. i'm not to familiar with it.

It's just a tool that shows the state of Direct X.
Alt-click the mouse (right-click for most people) on the windows button, pick run, type in "dxdiag.exe" (no quotes), click ok. Alternately you can search Apps for it.

Crystal Witch, I apologize for the delay in our response to your concern. When the computer freezes, is there an error message that pops up at all? Does the FFXIV application close immediately?

Also on the system report I noticed the graphics driver update is from 8/20/2018. As a new driver update has been released, please make sure the the drivers are updated.

Also have you tried in terms of trouble shooting to try and alleviate the issue?

There is no error message, my computer just freezes and the sound stops. I've kept an eye on the Task manager during it and there are no systems that pop up before then.

I'm downloading the new graphics driver now and I'll try to play.

I updated the driver, but could only play for a few minutes before I got a windows 10 blue screen. i heard the sound of an error opening, but i couldn't read it.

When you receive a blue screen on Windows 10, it usually has an error code of some sort. Do you recall seeing one?

I'd suggest doing a clean boot. Simply open the task manager and select the 'Start up' tab. Disable everything here and restart the PC. This will make sure that no background processes are interfering with the game. Disable any other programs or overlays while playing the game.

Also try setting the compatibility to Windows 7. Right-click on the ffxivboot.exe file and select ‘Properties.’ Then select the ‘Compatibility’ tab and choose Windows 7.

I heard the notification ping, but the computer screen was frozen so I couldn't read it.

I tried a clean boot before opening the forum page.

I'll try the overlay and the compatibility ones.

I tried, and nothing. I kept an eye on Task manager while playing and 3 programs were taking up all my disk space and freezing the game.
