With them trying to get more people to do the CT before the 5.0 they need to fix it. I will tell people you play the quest for the story because the level is a joke. If you wipe on a CT dungeon its because of stupid stuff not a challenge.

thing is dungeons are supposed to be faceroll and 24 mans only good for challenging content at launch. make them any harder and people will not do them. Case in point - before the weekly quest for carbontwine/carboncoat in ARR crystal tower was DEAD. no one did it. they had to organize sunday runs for people that were new to it.

We had to save rivel wings too. Since when where dungeons meant to be ez? There the meat and guts of this game. This game needs to reminded us that we are still people too not gods. It can be ez but still a game not a button mashing game. This is not Sonic at the Olympics.

The tier of difficulty for this game has always been dungeons > 8-mans > 24-mans > Extreme > Savage > Ultimate.
Because dungeons are the most pervasive content in this game, that is why they cannot be difficult. Everyone has to be able to do them. And considering how much difficulty some players have with not standing in the pretty, orange circles on the ground—and how much people complain when something the least bit challenging arises within the MSQ (see: Final Steps of Faith and Castrum Fluminis complaint threads)—dungeons cannot be any harder than they are now, otherwise people will start complaining that their “casual content” is too hard. Previous challenges in dungeons (see: original Pharos Sirius and Demon Wall’s bees in Amdapor Keep) were met with quite a bit of opposition and complaints until they were nerfed, and all subsequent dungeons continue the easy trend.
This is not to say I wouldn’t welcome it—I’d much rather the Expert dungeons not be easier than the Leveling dungeons, and I enjoyed the glory days of Weeping City and Dun Scaith back in HW. But this game is, at its core, a very easy game. If you want more difficult content—if you want an actual challenge—I would invite you to try Extremes, Savage, and maybe even Ultimate. That’s where you find your challenges at.

Now imagine you run that stuff for the 100th time or more and people keep dying over and over again because they can't do the mechanics right. If people couldn't outdps the mechanics more wipes would happen like they are still happening in WoD on the first boss and cerberus because people can't do or won't do mechanics. We had to save rivel wings too. At this current point the Crystal Tower raids (now being main story related) have to stay as they are. Back when the content was current you would see stories of wiping constantly in CT being current at the time. With the current IL sync it makes the content a breeze to go through but also will allow new players to experience the story without being gated into that early horror.
They nerfed the entry requirements as well (Remember when you had to wait for fates to spawn to even get into that raid series?), so this will continue to stay the same and I'd much rather have it.
Thankfully due to XIV being so customizable you can put up a PF listing for people who want to take on Crystal Tower synced to min il and run it like that. It would be a bigger effort then a coils run but seeing as how we have people here who have done 24 Man Healer parties for Orbonne and 24-man RDM parties for Lighthouse the interest to try out interesting things is out there.

People still wipe to Angry Mango in World of Darkness.![]()
Sometimes even Cerberus. Haven’t seen a wipe to Cloud of Darkness in a while, but saw them quite a bit back in HW.
That being said, current 24-mans usually always have stories full of wipes. Except for maybe Void Ark, because you could do VA asleep. But Weeping City, Dun Scaith, Rabanastre, Ridorana, and now Orbonne always carry stories of death and dying when they’re the current raid.

Thats fine and all, but it still doesn't stop the ilvl sync being broken. Why are both LotA and WoD synced to the same ilvl, when their entry requirements are about 70 ilvls different? It makes WoD a much more challenging (balanced) raid, and makes LotA literally skippable. At this current point the Crystal Tower raids (now being main story related) have to stay as they are. Obviously it's not fine and all because you're still complaining. Use Party Finder and do it that way. just stop queuing up if you dislike how it goes so badly. it's not that difficult to do. Dont like it dont do it. You'll note I follow the same philosophy myself No Eureka, no PvP, and well pretty much lack of anything outside of pve I have zero interest in the other stuff so I dont do it.Thats fine and all, but it still doesn't stop the ilvl sync being broken.
