Tbh while critique is important, this isn't actually the worst reply. It's still SE's work, and they still need to have the authority to decide what to do with it over critics. Whether other people decide to buy or not hinges on whether they make the right call. If enough unaddressed critiques pile up it can destroy sales beyond recovery... but if a company gives in to every uninformed, petty critic, that can also destroy sales. Good judgment is needed.
The actual worst response would be telling someone to make something better, then openly sabotaging that better work when it succeeds.
Which has happened before, just not by SE. That situation is working out about as well as you'd expect.
Has anyone suggested a 4-8 hour window where you bid (face value) on a plot? At the end of the window a winner is selected at random. If no one bidded then a new 4-8 hour period is started and the plot devalues.
That has to have been suggested right?
Yes feedback, not entitled whining. Thank god they dont listen to the vocal minority that bark the loudest.
Lotteries and auctions have both been suggested. Auctions will never find favor because it means the house simply goes to the highest bidder instead of giving all players who are able to afford the plot an equal chance to obtain it. Lotteries got discussed several weeks back with a list of pros and cons, and are pretty unlikely because they'd be a headache for SE to program and monitor.
Although the instanced housing suggested would probably fix a lot of the problems people are unhappy with, I personally like the aspect of having a neighborhood of others to interact with; do you think instanced neighborhoods would be something they might be able to implement? Not sure how many other people feel the same, but just a thought I had lol

There's plenty of potential to have both styles of housing.
Instanced housing, for those who haven't the capacity to try and purchase a plot from the neighbourhood, as well as those who don't want/care about being part of a neighbourhood.
With still having the current neighbourhoods available for those who still wish to participate in them. Which could include people who have to settle for an instanced house until they get the chance to purchase a plot in a neighbourhood.
I mean, honestly, instanced housing would function basically like Apartments, only without the restrictions on stuff like outdoor furnishings and gardens... As well as allowing for larger estates (When there have been many people who've asked for larger Apartments to be available)
The wards could become instanced housing by moving the entry portal to the gate in the fence. Walk through the gate and you're in the player's instanced area. Walk back out of the gate and you're in the shared zone able to see and interact with other players in the common area. The drawback would be that your view of the common areas would show generic neighboring houses instead of your neighbor's actual look within their instance.Although the instanced housing suggested would probably fix a lot of the problems people are unhappy with, I personally like the aspect of having a neighborhood of others to interact with; do you think instanced neighborhoods would be something they might be able to implement? During the Dev Q&A panel over the weekend, there was a question asked about the balcony door in mansions and if it could be set up as an exit. I'll need to go back through the Q&A to get YoshiP's exact answer but it made it sound like they are actively trying to find ways to make common areas be seen from within the instanced portions of housing. If they can find a way to do it, it could mean the creation of those hybrid neighborhoods.
edit for the actual question and response:
Q: Can you implement a way to make the balcony door in our mansion accessible? We can see the door from the inside. We can see the door from the outside. But we can't go through it.
YoshiP (Koji's translation):We are currently in the test phase of this. However, we talked about this a little bit earlier. If you were to exit from the house onto the balcony, you wouldn't be going into that housing area. This is as we've said before impossible system side. So for example if I were to go out on the balcony and at that same time say Koji's character was out walking around, system wise it would be impossible to see from my balcony Koji's character walking around. We can't do that but we can kind of figure out a way to fake it and make it seem like that's happening. So we're currently working on that system to figure out how to do it. It may take a little bit more time but we're working on it.
So it sounds like they're working on a way to bring the illusion of an active ward into an instanced area that more closely replicates what's actually happening in the ward at that time.

There's a lot of errors that housing system needs to be fixed and so far, nothing has been done. YoshiP did say he's not making any more wards. Instead he was asking about what if Ishgard had housing, and he revealed the Ishgard reconstruction project. I am still calling it that he's been trying to work on instance based housing for Ishgard instead of ward since he and devs probably realized that Ward systems still does no good in the end.
It's a grain of salt but we'll see what he does for Tokyo Fanfest.
Hate to cause sqaure a headache. Excuse me, I have another 10 hours of clicking a post to get to.
