    chaos datacenter package loss/lag

    this Tuesday i started to get a lot of package loss playing ff14.
    during the evening the amount of loss is the highest.
    Im playing on PS4
    wired connection (cable internet from Ziggo)
    and im from cerberus.
    I already called my provider and they don't see any problem at my end.
    here is a trace that i did just now.

    I also did a trace just now to the NA center, see the difference.

    Same issue here, also have Ziggo as an internet provider. Seems to be a common issues amongst us, ISP website doesnt show any problems with the internet connection and FFXIV is the only thing this problem occurs.
    Been having this for a few days now and asked other dutch Ziggo users and they appear to have the same issue as well.

    Good afternoon and thank you for posting on the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums.

    When did this first start occurring? And you mention that it get worse during the evenings, correct?

    It's possible you are running into congestion along your route when connecting to the game. This might explain why you don't have the same issue with the North American data center. It is the middle of the day there and would have less people connecting to it at that time.

    I did notice you are running into issues at hop number 5 on both trace routes. I understand that you contacted your ISP and they said there is nothing wrong with your connection, but this does not mean that you aren't running into problems once you leave your home network.

    For me personally this issues started occuring tuesday.
    ISP says nothing is wrong on their end and whenever I use a trace on other games its all perfectly fine, the packet loss only occurs to ffxiv and just like the poster of this thread i also run into an issue at the 5th hop.
    (I run into a problem with the 5th hop at any time of the day it seems.)

    Never have experienced this problem before and have been able to play perfectly fine during peak hours and release days before but these packet losses make playing the game absolutely unbearable.

    Yes Tuesday this problem started, and even in all this time playing this game hop 5 Always looks like that.
    and my provider tells me thats because it has a very low priority responding to ping requests.
    just did another trace while doing a trial roulette, and while not perfect at least its playable now.
    its early morning 9am for me.
    the only package loss at this point seems to happen at the last hop.

    Here is another trace, no package loss and no lag ingame.
    this is the third day this is happening, no real problems during the day.
    In the evening however it's like the first trace and doing instanced content is impossible.
    Will do another trace this evening and see how the situation is.

    Im on Choas too, Ragnarok, PC. So i wanted to craft in the housing Area, after some minutes i get 900002, i think. I didn't really pay attention how many zeros. So, since i dont want to loose my mats for the crafts, i change to leveling a twink, no disconnect happens for a hour or so, great. Back to my main and craft some mats for later, one minute later and i disconnect, bah. Same error. When i was gathering yesterday at 10pm i kept getting dcs too.

    Dunno if u can do something about it, just wanted to report it. Maybe it's cos i got a stream in background? Gonna see what happens if its closed.

    Im at Chaos/Licho and Also Ziggo as provider. Got same issues on pc and ps4
    Retainers take a while before they appear. Lots of slowdowns and lag since i think tuesday.

    During the day its a bit better but not much
