The people currently blackmailing Devs over cosmetics are a disgrace

Most of these people probably actually aren’t unsubbing or if they are they will be back before Shadowbringers early access, they will miss their friends in the game and want to experience the new content and story. This is all just people throwing a melodramatic tantrum as a result of online outrage culture.

Cosmetics are extremely important in many online games and just because it does not matter to you does not mean it is not important to someone else. It is sad that the developers are getting backlash, because if they were allowed to make male Viera they would not be in this situation. However, I feel no sympathy for them over this soundless decision and anyone complicit in making the gender lock happen is well deserving of criticism after sowing mass-discord and anger in the community.

People are being over the top and there have been unreasonable statements but frankly your attitude isn't much better. This is a computer game and what is important in that computer game is different for different people. Their concern over cosmetics is as valid as any other concern any other player might raise because for them it is important. Considering how many of the rewards in this game ARE cosmetic it is frankly a perfectly valid thing to take issue with.

I didnt criticize anybody's opinion. Everybody has the right to think cosmetics are a vital part of the experience... what infuriates me is the act of blackmailing the game developers, threatening to unsub, only because of a cosmetic issue. you can think cosmetics are important, still it is not the core of the game.

I thought character customisation and character identification is something in MMOs these days.
You have a lot of veteran players here, a lot of people that been playing the same race for over years and want some variety.
Promises were given back in 1.0 and hype got build up to not ruin pre orders, so it is only understandable that some people might quit for now and feel cheated. And even if its just for time being, it will leave a mark in their profits.

I'm not sure you know what blackmailing is.... because saying "I'm not happy with the current state of things, so I'm going to leave until I am happy with the current state of things" isn't blackmail.... it's part of consumerism.
