Well it's official now! FFXV crossover event on the way!

Thats for the FF XV part, its what they do to get their XIV rewards. They haven't revealed what we have to do in XIV yet (and any rewards we get other than the car)

Everything in the trailer is from the FFXIV part. During the Garuda fight the WoL is clearly visible smacking Garuda.

Whereas in the FFXV x FFXIV trailer during the Garuda fight there is a complete absence of the WoL, not to mention it's the FFXIV version of Garuda he's fighting, and Noctis is joined by his bros in the fight.

Isn't it lovely, then, that this is a crossover that you can ignore? I know it's been hard to block out the thousands of Monster Hunter World signs plastered everywhere in game, and it's going to be difficult to fully feel immersed alongside your chocobo-headed paladins in bikinis with a bunch of dirty magitek sci-fi cars flying around, but at least you won't be required to participate.

I'm well chuffed about the FFXIV and FFXV collaboration event... absolutely pleased.

Apart from the mount, the only item that I had been hoping for (and now apparently will not see light of day) is Nyx's gear...

See, i know you're trying to act like this is a gotcha moment.. but it's not. I'm not plugging my ears about anything because i'm not accepting that Garlemald might have a completely different aesthetic from what we've seen of them already.

When you have seen something of a nation/people/etc, it can be inferred that there will be similar elements within their greater culture; while it can not be inferred that you will see things that are wildly different from what's already been represented as being the norm, and while the military may have a more ruggedized and cold feel, it wouldn't be completely removed from the greater cultural aesthetic. When we get to garlemald, we will more than likely see a lot of buildings that look like the Garlean buildings we see dotting areas of Eorzea and Doma.. and we probably won't see them living in thatched roof cottages.. because we can see their architectural style in action.

Will there be outliers and different classes of Garleans who live differently from each other? Probably, but cultures will always share common elements across it's classes. If you ever take even a cursory examination of cultures across history, you would be able to see this.

I think it will be available in game. Probably gated behind a currency, but nothing in the trailer gave the impression they're going to hold it behind the cash shop.

Even at my most cynical, I couldn't imagine them putting Regalia on Mog Station until at least a year after the event (and the opportunity to earn the mount in-game) was over.

I very strongly believe this will be an ongoing (permanent) event, but I could be wrong.
