YoRHa Alliance raid theory

Throwing out a theory on how this whole raid could work out:

With all the focus on Time that's popped up with Shadowbringers, its not uncommon to hear people theorize time travel as a viable reason for things that are happening in the expansion.

I theorize (and something I haven't heard yet) that the whole YoRHa Alliance raid isn't just taking place in the setting of Automata. I'm thinking that the Raid will take place in the Far flung future of Eorzea/Hydaelyn/our world. As in a point in time so far from our own that the world has radically changed and the the events of all of FF14 is but a footnote in history. I'm assuming something in the future will pull us (and some NPC's) to the future either on accident or on purpose and eventually we re-awaken Hydaleyn's blessing or an echo or whatever in one of the YoRha/androids so we can leave that world with a new WoL to defend it.

I think it's going to reference a renegade branch of Allagans experimenting with Replicant/Gestalt technology, different methods to those the Allagans in the World of Darkness raid used.

I have a theory.
SE has no standards and will use XIV as a marketing platform for disgusting fan servicing.

I can see this only as something that hurts both, Nier and Final Fantasy XIV names.

This could be good, but honestly, the Allagan Empire was pretty close together, as it's one calamity made it fall apart and we haven't really seen any hint of it being so culturally diverse as architecture remains the same through Aldenard, Othard and Azys Lla: Which is kinda of an amalgamation of lands that the empire extended upon.

I doubt there was such a faction, let alone with so much power to use Replicant/Gestalt tech which potentially is better than the Clonning/Neurolink techs they had developed and caused/costed them their downfall across all their extension.

Again, they are free to retcon absolutely everything, specially in a universe that is less of an universe and more of a metaverse by now.

If the story teased so far has a heavier emphasis on time and possibly space...

Some past collabs involve minor or small breaches in the dimensional wall. The raid could be caused by something similar on a much larger scale either through natural phenomenon or possibly a garlean lab royally screwing something up trying to recreate Allegan technology. In the end theres possibilities of a timewarp to the past or future, or it could be a separate dimension, a different shard world, or a complete alternate timeline caused by key events happening different in the past. (insert doc brown talking about how time splits at points due to different possible outcomes of events using a drawing on a chalkboard)

Makes sense to me, considering in the Automata world humanity had been extinct for millennia . To YorHa we could be relics of the past flung into their time, the future, thousands of years later.
As far as one of them becoming a WoL to protect their own world, there really isn't much of anything left to protect. Just the survivors of the resistance and whatever docile machines remain, especially if it picks up after ending E (the "true" ending).

I wonder where was all this outrage with all the other fan service we already have in the game.

Like Ivalice raids were far more blatant about it, with every FF title being independent for someone who hasn't played any Ivalice game there's no difference between the FFT pandering in Stormblood and this new raid. A lot of people didn't know who Ramza or Delita were and they had to be explained in game, these people gained zero surprise or emotion when newer characters, bosses or settings were announced, it's gonna be the same for those who don't know who 2B or Devola/Popola are.

I'm hoping it isn't time travel.

Actually, I'm hoping the meat of this game takes place in the Warriors of Darkness' version of Eorzea... which apparently a bizarro version of our Eorzea.
Which is why Urianger is a healer and Y'shtola(Matoya) is a DPS, and they were black instead of white... and Thancred is a tank and he wears white instead of black...

Then this raid would take place on the "dark" world (Which I desperately want to call the "World of Darkness" but that's already taken...) as perhaps a revival of some ancient tech... Allagan or otherwise.

This would be why the 2B featured in the promo image is the "bizarro" version with dark hair and white clothes and perhaps why it is the "Dark" Apocalypse.

I'm going to lean on Allagans again because for the first time ever, this was an overreach by SE.

This raid isn't some FF-styled fanservice. This is literally a whole other series/franchise with not even an inkling of relation other than one being out of the game: both being published/owned by SE. While I don't mind that Nier Automata skipped the dreadful FATE plate a lot of us feared it was going to be served, I really, REALLY gotta question that decision because it sets a really REALLY strange precedence. If someone tommorow made a thread about the next 24man alliance should be about "Life is Strange", I wouldn't be able to say "they would never do that". Of course, Life is strange isn't some highly demanded crossover event so it wouldn't show up but I hope I'm making my point across.

Honestly, I always thought they were gonna take the MH route, which proved to be very successful and fun and I doubt most people would've questioned it but this...this blows my mind.

This raid certainly changes what can be considered possible. I think finding a way to make this work with FFXIV is going to be the biggest challenge they'll ever face.
If they just shoe-horn it in with some really weak reasoning, then their standard for how they handle content like this is going to be rock bottom.
When 6.0 rolls around, people will be anticipating us to go to the Hoenn region and fight Mewtwo. (I know it's not an SE IP. Not the point) I don't want this.

I was pretty much ranting on this since mid HW when all these interdimensional stuff started reaching badly written fanfic levels.
