Hello, just had a few questions in regards to the upcoming server merge and trying to get a feel for Figaro, as our LS is currently discussing which server path we want to take.

1.) How's your numbers? I.e. general server size during NA primetime, JP primetime, etc.

2.) Do the LS's seem to be more social- or event-oriented?

Also, if you have any questions about Melmond let me know!

also, I'd say there is a party shouting in uldah for xp/spiritbond pretty much throughout the evening (5pm cst-11pm cst). I've recently seen a lot of names that I've never seen before and I've been playing since release, so that's always a good sign.

2) What kind of LSs?

Definitely a mix of both. If I had to try and count them, I'd say there are about 4-5 NA end game, all R50 jobs event-LSs and 10+ social LSs hanging around or talking in chat. The top 1-2 NA event-LS's tackle the content fairly quickly as within ~1-5 days of world first kills. The way I might gauge the LSs' strengths, is seeing which/when LS members get certain achievements on ffxivpro (Batraal, Ifrit, Moogle speed kill etc).


Questions for you:

How much is Bloodthirst materia, Healers Hand materia, and HQ karakul fleece on your server? :3

My ls is mostly social (generally NA, but not limited to) but we do several runs when we can, as well as help new players out and each other. In the ls, our numbers have grown very fast with a mix of new members and veteran. I'm the type to work with the community, currently working with another linkshell to keep events rolling. Looking forward to meeting players on Melmond!

I am seeking information for my ls as well. I am in another En speaking end game ls (Mad Platters is the only other that I know of that consistantly beats moogle.) We are currently becoming slowly inactive due to lack of players to play with. Do people make parties other then exp/spiritbonding? Because most of our players only have gathering and crafting classes left to complete. So, are people out shouting for enms as well or strong hold nms? How would you rate the majority of your worlds personality? Like are you guys open to meeting new people, are you excited for the merger, or is everyone just kind of wanting to play with their own group of people? Do people use the search function or is it only shouting? Any idea what your average En speaker player base is at any given time? Mind if I ask what your En speaking player base is at peak hours? Also would you mind naming off some of your more active social/end game linkshells?

Yes. There are Ifrit pick-up shout parties forming all the time, at least 2-3 every night. As for moogle, it's a little rarer but I still see one every couple days. I don't see many parties shouting for farming stronghold NMs or open world NMs though.

How would I rate the worlds personality? Search function etc

Hard to say since I don't know everyone, but I would say that most players are 18+ and a lot of former XI players. So the community is very mature. There are of course those troll characters that are probably on every server...Everyone seems excited for 1.21 and the merger, they are just kinda depressed how long it's taking SE to follow through. I think every LS suffers from inactivity this far into 1.20. I know our LS numbers are down from 12 to 8 on every night. This has somewhat forced a lot of players from different linkshells to join pickups together. I rarely ever see people use the search function. Maybe 10/200 have the search feature up. Shouting in uldah is still the way to go. English player base is fairly large around peak times, 200+ with 2-3 Ifrit/exp/spiritbonding shouts.

Omen (International, but do endgame with NA)
The Returners
Phoenix Order (mix of social/endgame)
Phenomenon (not too sure about this LS)

I think pretty much every LS is "recruiting" for the merger, just to hopefully pick up the best players from Melmond since the merger is a great opportunity.

I hope I didn't seem rude or anything I am just curious is all to get to know a bit more about Figaro. =D If there is anything you would like to know about Melmond feel free to ask me. I would like to think I know most of my community and am an experienced player. So, if there's any questions I can ask shoot. =D

It's ok Valk, I forgive you for leaving Omen off your list, despite your ls spot being like right next to ours ._. ... That being said, I'd like to add our ls, Omen to Valks list above XD. Generally our LS tends to float around in the top 8 of the server according to pro if that means anything. We're actually an international LS so we're active at almost all hours. And though we're pretty social, we do do all the endgame stuff too. I think along with Dancing Mad and a few others, we're one of the only English speaking LS's that have successfully done the 10 minute Moogle on Figaro? Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong XD.

Anyway as Valk said, our English base is pretty good actually and we do mostly do things trough shout. And, our LS's will be upon yours like a pack of hungry wolves on a flock of sheep >_>; But really, I think we all are looking forward to the merge and to meeting you guys from Melmond~

Lol, I am not sure how the ls situation will work out. We have several ls's on Melmond that I think are well known. Mercury being one of them we are a smaller end game ls, Radient Plume is another smaller end game ls with many exp'd Players (Mad Platter would be the man to talk with if you'd like to know more of them), New Order is an ls that has had many members join in the past month or two I think it is a social ls I am not sure, and The ForsakeN has gone through many remakes but they are alive and kicking I think they are a social ls but they have a core of exp'd players who like to do end game stuff. Those are the ls's of notoriety in Melmond from my experience. I am sure I have left some out and I do apologize for it. =P
