Question about Collectable Crafting

I am fairly new to the collectables universe and am still learning the ropes.

It appears that I am only able to use collectable synthesis for one trade. For instance, I can only create items for alchemy. If I try to create a culinary or smithing collectable, the synthesis button is greyed out. Am I locked into one collectable synthesis trade forever, or is there a way for me to get out of this?

You have to enable it for each class you wanna do it on.. Lv50 is the min required level. Plus some items can't be made collectable.. You should be able to read at the bottom with the recommended crafting and control of its collectable or not..

Then again im also new only 2 lv50 ish crafters.

I'm straight 60s on all my crafting. Okay...I have to figure out how to enable it. Thank you. I really tried to google couldn't find the answer.

It's an ability in your actions.. If your needing more info forcrafting like collectables and rotations ect.. Ive been using this guide.

I might be misunderstanding the problem. If thats the case, ignore me. But are you switching classes along the way? An alchemist only makes alchemy collectables. A smithing collectable is still a smithing recipe, so you need to switch to smith first(and dont forget to make sure the collectable synthesis skill is active before you finish your craft). You can absolutely make collectables for any class you have higher then level 50 once the system is unlocked.

I'd wager the problem here may be trying to use a shared hotbar with one class's Collectable Synthesis on it. Pretty sure each crafting class has its own button you need to use. The skill gets greyed out because you're trying to use the skill that applies to the class it came from, and not the class you're on.

It'd be like trying to share Observe or Basic Touch, etc. Sure, they all get the same skill, does the same thing, but to the game, they're all totally unique skills that only work for the class that learns them.

The skill is the same for each class, as in there is but one icon. BUT it has to be enabled in actions for each class.

I think the icon is the same visibly but needs to be hotkeyed from the actual class .
So if you're a weaver and drag the collector icon to your hotbar, that exact same bar/slot will not work for another crafter class.
Drag the icon from THAT class to your hotbar and you'll be fine.

if you're lvl 60 without having done any collectibles, that means you are not doing your crafting quests (you need the master3 books for most crafting jobs for the lvl 60 quest).

Out of curiosity, why did you skip all your quests?

Or they simply bought the items for the quests off the MB [They were rather cheap on Sarg]. I didn't have any master books till after I grinded them all out at 70 and did all the class quests to get to 70.
