Well Minfilia is back and as a loli...I mean little girl.

What role do you think she will play in 5.0 considering the 5.0 art holds her as a very important character?

Im honestly so happy to have Mini back in some form. I get everyone hated her and she could have done a lot more in 2.0 but maybe this will be her redemption story!

Given the fact that she comes back younger. I wonder if this evidence that the lifestream can be used for time travel

Honestly, the hate comes more from not seeing the things Minfilia does as a Scion being the political negotiations, management of trade, and establishing of alliances between people and factions.

Alphinaud has take Minfilia's place in this task but he has been mentioned by Tataru to be horrible with the management of trades aspect of the negotiations as he spends way too much on unnecessary things for his negotiations and Scion's use.

However, people gotten a bit more lighter on Alphinaud because they see him performing these political tasks so they get a glimps on what makes him useful to the team even though Minfilia been doing this for years but at a much better ability off-screen.

Only partly.

I am well away that Minfilia is very good at her job and is a vital part of the organization and that the Scions would inevitably fall to pieces without her. I have great respect for what she does. I certainly couldn't do her job, and neither can Alphinaud, really. However, none of that makes her a likable character. All the respect in the world doesn't make her less annoying.

I think a sort of rebirth is what we are looking at here, rather than time travel.

Maybe, but when Thancred in the trailer says "this town has change and not for the better" and the narrator says that some event was worse than the calamity needs to be undone. It makes me think we are going back somewhere. Maybe im wrong and they are doing something similar to WOW catalyst where a major area is destroyed and it effects the story. But i guess we'll see in a couple of months

There was never really any reason to doubt she'd come back; Minfilia blatantly promised she would somehow find a way to return from the impossible, because the Warrior of Light always had for her. The only question for me was, "Is the Child of Light that moment, or something else?" lol.

My guess, from seeing this type of plot before from old mangas I use to read that already ended, it is a "Yes and No" answer.

Yes, this is Minfilia returning from the impossible and now a child.

BUT!

No, this will not be the same Minfilia personality wise because she may have lost her memory about her old life as 2.0 Minfilia and thus the WoL basically "raise" her to become a new character that grows up to have a different personality from the "old" Minfilia.
