I don't see an issue. 1-50 doesn't teach you how to play a class. Your rotation, tools, and your class's identity doesn't come into its own till 60 anyway. So someone grunting through 50 levels isn't neccessarily going to be better than someone who doesn't. 60-70 is easily enough time and effort to teach someone how to tank. Its easy, throw your shield, axe, bubble or shoot at a target, AOE the group, and then just stay out of patches on the ground. There's the basics for tanking. Everything else is dungeon specific. And FATE grinding or level rouletting 50 levels doesn't help you with Nabriales, Nidhogg, or Shinryu anyway. Just gotta jump in and get your feet wet.

That could be just as easily a PLD, WAR, or DRK.

We all want DPS to have less queues with more tanks. Available, this is how its done.

Mild Necro here, sorry but I had to chime in.
Speaking as someone who had minimal tanking experience (read that as 'absolutely no experience') prior to the Gunbreaker announcement, I'm thinking its not going to be as bad as some people think. Reason I say this is that once I decided I was going to play, and possibly main, Gunbreaker, I asked a few folks I knew that tanked for tips and leveled DRK to 70 to get some experience so I wouldn't be hopeless when the time came. Not saying everyone else is doing that, I image many won't, but I suspect anyone who is serious about tanking endgame will have done something similar.

Lets be honest with ourselves here Gunbreaker starting at 60 is an absolute nonissue. Same for Dancer starting at 60. A worst case scenario will be like every other tank they forget to use cool downs

I disagree, LvL 70 was a better option. With the introduction of Trust if you are not confident enough the NPCs are there for you to practice as much as you want.

personally would have loved it to be 70 just to bypass the grind ill be doing

    but 60 is fine
a bad tank isn't gonna get far anyway

I still see alliances wiped by Angra Mainyu in WoD today.

So, if your concerns are about meet "bad" tanks in duty finder, that job can start even maxed 80 and nothing changes.

The thought of giving a player who has never ever tanked a free lvl 60 tank is a really grim.
Its going to be hell for new players who get stuck with them while trying to progress in duty finder and we'll likely see a lot of ping pong agro between dps on jobs they already know how to play and the scrub Gunbreaker hitting random buttons.

It's going to be like what happenee with Dark but 100 times worse.

They should have Gunbreaker starting level at level 30.People need to learn how to tank.Dont throw them in the deep end.
It's a global issue with all the new jobs. I'd have even made them all start at Lvl 1 it's a bit grindy, sure, but it's the only real way to learn a new job, learning the skills one by one etc.

IMHO it doesn't matter what level the tank starts at level 1 or 60. With deep dungeons like POTD and HoH used for leveling and level boosts for sale tanks can easily get to max level without ever having to actually learn their class. It is already bad but we always see a large spike in awful tanks anytime a new tank class is added, saw it in HW and will see it again in ShB

With how tanking has been simplified in regards to holding/generating emnity... I wouldn't worry.
