Mild Necro here, sorry but I had to chime in.
Speaking as someone who had minimal tanking experience (read that as 'absolutely no experience') prior to the Gunbreaker announcement, I'm thinking its not going to be as bad as some people think. Reason I say this is that once I decided I was going to play, and possibly main, Gunbreaker, I asked a few folks I knew that tanked for tips and leveled DRK to 70 to get some experience so I wouldn't be hopeless when the time came. Not saying everyone else is doing that, I image many won't, but I suspect anyone who is serious about tanking endgame will have done something similar.

I say start it at 70. I don’t even want to have to do 20 levels. 10 would be fine to learn it. DD if you want to practice. As a healer I have to keep junk tanks alive everyday anyway, so to me it’s all the same

Regardless of what level it starts at, there will always be bad tanks in Duty Finder. Boosted ones, ones that got there from leveling, it doesn't matter. I don't know where the idea of going from 1 to 70 makes somebody a better tank comes from, because it doesn't. I've seen as many terrible level 70 tanks (often i400) as I have tanks of any other level. Warriors is raids that refuse to MT because "war does better DPS". Tanks that don't even know the basic fundamentals of their job.

Not to mention tanking is about to get a lot easier. Turn on the stance and AOE for days. We might actually see fewer bad tanks from now on. Healers will still need to deal with ones that don't use defensive CDs (optimally, or at all), but there'll be less situations that turn a pull into a free-for-all.

Lets be honest with ourselves here Gunbreaker starting at 60 is an absolute nonissue. Same for Dancer starting at 60. A worst case scenario will be like every other tank they forget to use cool downs

I disagree, LvL 70 was a better option. With the introduction of Trust if you are not confident enough the NPCs are there for you to practice as much as you want.

personally would have loved it to be 70 just to bypass the grind ill be doing

a bad tank isn't gonna get far anyway

I still see alliances wiped by Angra Mainyu in WoD today.

So, if your concerns are about meet "bad" tanks in duty finder, that job can start even maxed 80 and nothing changes.

The thought of giving a player who has never ever tanked a free lvl 60 tank is a really grim.
Its going to be hell for new players who get stuck with them while trying to progress in duty finder and we'll likely see a lot of ping pong agro between dps on jobs they already know how to play and the scrub Gunbreaker hitting random buttons.

It's going to be like what happenee with Dark but 100 times worse.

They should have Gunbreaker starting level at level 30.People need to learn how to tank.Dont throw them in the deep end.
It's a global issue with all the new jobs. I'd have even made them all start at Lvl 1 it's a bit grindy, sure, but it's the only real way to learn a new job, learning the skills one by one etc.

No job is learned properly one skill at a time. Learning incomplete jobs promotes bad habits. The sooner people get their complete action sets, the sooner they can start using them correctly and working on good habits.
