Oh I am going to have fun with this, a friend / co dps friend of mine likes to pull for tanks and laughs when they rage if they do small pulls. Interesting to see if they will rage if it happens to them. Sadly I probably am going to end up healing for them. Still hope to get some laughs.
Haha that sounds so EPIC bro! xD OwO xD xD xD Epic for the win!!!111

It will take some time for people to get used to the new class? People won't be perfect from day 1? People will make MISTAKES??!!
How dare they! Blasphemy! Riooooot!

This has never been an issue in leveling dungeons. After 20 levels' worth of gameplay I'd hazard most Gunbreakers should have enough of a grasp of the job to handle mass-pulling. Those extra 20 levels of grinding FATEs to level AST in Heavensward certainly didn't prepare me any better for endgame, you know.Well by certain people's standards these days, if a Tank Player can't mass pull then they are considered bad tanks no matter if they complete the dungeon or not.
The standard to finish the dungeon as fast as possible really warped what Tank's jobs are in the group being to keep the group alive to complete the group task.
I'd honestly prefer gunbreaker and dancer start at 70 so that I dont have to spend the first day or two of the expansion in old content if I decide one of them is the job I wanna go forward into the expansion with.
it doesn't take more than 1 dungeon to learn the skills if you actually put effort into learning it.Not starting a class or job at Level 1 is a big mistake anyway. Even if that's a new job, even if you need to level from 1 to 80, hey, that's how you learn. The way SE implements it is bad. You start at 60 with a trillion of skill and no idea of how to play, that's just stupid...

I'll give you that not everyone learns the same way, but I struggle to see the value of playing a class from 1-30 unless, maybe, you're absolutely new to the game. Learning the Stormblood classes from level 50 took a couple of minutes hitting striking dummies. After that I immediately queued into level 50 dungeons and was fine. Leveling from 1 comes with the downside of potentially picking up bad habits from having incomplete skill sets. Not starting a class or job at Level 1 is a big mistake anyway. Honestly if you can hold hate on 3 mobs you can hold hate on 15. I never got the argument that "oh i dunno if i can hold multi pack pulls." hit your aoe button a few times. its a really easy concept.Well by certain people's standards these days, if a Tank Player can't mass pull then they are considered bad tanks no matter if they complete the dungeon or not.

(Speaking directly to the OP; haven't read the thread) I can understand the concern. However, I'm unsure if it's going to be that big of a problem. Or at least, it won't heavily exacerbate the problem.
For one, those that have gotten to level 60 normally (without boosts) should know at least something about how aggro and tanking works even if they don't normally tank. We also have the Hall of the Novice that can teach the basics as well. Then there's the Trust system. I have all three tanks maxed and yet even I will be using that system for a few early runs as Gunbreaker to make sure I know how the class works before I go public (Though that depends on when the Trust system is available. There may be some sort of prerequisite quest or something, but we'll see.)

actually, i wish theyd start from 50 cause i love the job stories and lore, and itd let you start from the end of arr with the new jobs
my biggest concern though is if they do start from 60, does that mean no more sub 60 weapons like a ramuh gunblade?
