Gender locked race?

I could be wrong about this, I may have dozed off. But during the Art Panel following the Keynote, when Ayumi was talking about Viera concept art she started talking about something "smaller" and was quickly cut off by Yoshida. This probably means nothing but I thought it was kind of funny. I'll try and see if I can find the timestamp.

I heard about that! It might be hinting at a viera sub race for feol after all which would be nice!

There will be male Viera - as FFXIV's new Allied Race Option - have to finish all of Shadowbringers's MSQ up to 5.0 and reach max level reputation with the pixies and other requirements to follow to unlock this race option.

Looks like at around 2:16:00 on they talk about looking like a "young elezen" and Yoshida goes hey! and they all laugh. So take that as you will I guess.

I still don't think they've finished working on viera-seeing as how the ones we've seen so far don't seem to even be differentiated into the Rava and Veena clans. In fact, they weren't even mentioned at all. It's possible that tomorrow or at the next fan fest they'll come out and release what both clans look like, along with the males for each. The ones in the video don't seem to have a lot of variation in skin tone, and none of them are as tan as Fran is, so we can assume that we are looking at the light-skinned Veena viera here. Not a single one of them has the dark speckles on Fran's ears either.

At the end of the day though, gender locked races are a thing of the past. While it was mentioned in the art panel that everyone will receive Fran's/the viera racial gear upon switching to Viera, there also a point where she was cut off just as she mentioned "young looking elezen." This might give evidence to the people who have been asking for cutesy male Viera. We'll just have to wait and see if someone is allowed to ask a question on male viera tomorrow or wait a few months more.

Regardless of the end result the main point of contention is that this level of non communication is unacceptable. There's a big difference between the bugs bunny T shirt tease and just flat out announcing a new race with next to no information. SE knows exactly what their doing and no one is happy with it.

There was a sahagin priest that used the echo and ended up being devoured by leviathan. Go back and re-watch the leviathan arc cutscenes in the armoire.

Hmm just did, but while it looks interesting it sure seems to work differently than ours. Plus, he was tempered. Either way, if Ronso were to be added in the game, it would make no sense to have only males since females exist and travel around as well in FFX. I know that people want this race a lot too, but I'd rather wait for them to release full races instead of 2 gender locked races.
