Gender locked race?

Giving us Hrothgar instead of male Viera would be cheating me out of my money. As cool as some people may find it, another cat race is not what the game needs right now. Viera are what was hyped up all this time and that is what we are entilted to. Hrothgar is an entirely different race, and can never be equivalent to male Viera in my eyes since they don't look the same and have a completely unknown story. What is truly lazy is writing out an entire gender of a race, which in no way, shape, or form will be well received by the community. They deserve rage and pitchforks if they reveal Hrothgar instead of male Viera at the fanfest.

You're correct, I always assume a lion simply because Blufever's leaks have been pretty accurate. Although, we don't know the exact information he was going on.

I am on the Blufever hype train as well. I'm excited for these Hrothgar, as critical as I am about gender locks since I do love Ronso and he said they were close to Ronso. To say I wasn't would be lying. But, it still doesn't change the fact that if they are gender-locked, it's pretty damn lame for both sides.

First and foremost, you pay for a service by your own choice and you do not own any part of it. SE is not obligated to cater this game to your standards and in return you can literally stop playing it whenever. Each time you pay your sub you are CHOOSING to accept the terms and conditions of what they are providing with this service and therefore are not getting cheated but willingly going along with it. You tell a company how you feel with your wallet.

Getting another new race is a bonus/blessing when they did not have to spend dev dollars on it at all. Especially considering they've been telling us how difficult it is to add in another race.

I see no reason to be grateful for getting the opposite of what I want out of the game. Me being honest about my opinions is not the same thing as being toxic. SE, if you see this and give us Hrothgar instead of male Viera, I won't come back to FFXIV and you'll lose my support for 2 years until the next expansion after Shadowbringers comes out.

Uh-huh, sure. I hate Au Ra (more so because of the concept art where they looked way more interesting) and Viera (been against them for longer than Au Ra), yet here I am. Still playing this game. I've probably made threats of unsubbing if I didn't get what I wanted, but clearly that was a lie (I've learned to deal with the fact that if I want to play as something that isn't a human, I'll have to wait for SE to release beastmen/monster glamours that aren't joke glamours).

Only time I ever stopped subbing to this game was when I got bored.

It is 100% one thing to be honest with your opinion and abrasively delusional about how business transactions work. Not to mention you have no logical factual basis behind anything aside from (Wah... but i want it). Toddler style.

First - You pay for a service. You don't own this IP, it's development or anything else of that nature. You make a choice to spend your dollars to support a company. If you don't like it, you are completely within your right to unsub and that's how it should be. Getting on a public forum and using terms like "cheating you out of your money" because you're not getting exactly what you want? That isn't logical. That's absurd. That is entitled. It is disgusting.

Second - Let's talk about where your entitlement stemmed from? Nowhere. SE did not reveal male viera, they did not promise you male viera. They did not make a pact with your saying it's going to happen. In fact when asked, Yoshi noted that he did not have anything to say on it and that there is a fanfest in March.

So you are here, slandering a company, over a made up thing that you want, when there has been no business commitment to give it to you.

I had a whole paragraph typed more, but am deleting it because I mean... there is no reason why the dev team wouldn't tell us about Male Viera at EU fanfest if a whole second race was coming in Japan. Logically it wouldn't make sense to have all these angry bunnybois considering I'm sure they see this small vocal minority (Most of the guys in this game play girl characters btw) and would want to avoid that ire. There is even an article from 6 years ago saying that male bunnybois would be weird. So I feel 99% certain there are no male viera coming.

So since you're probably not getting Male Viera and that feels like justice enough for all these shenanigans. Don't forget to unsub!
