I don't feel comfortable sharing screenshots, but I promise it's true. There seem so be versions for all sets (casting, fending, etc) and the stats seem roughly equivalent to some of the eureka armour.
The glamour was an easy guess - so yeah, it adds some credibility - not a large amount, however. I would have been more impressed if they guessed the mount though.
If it's another race and it's a genderlocked lion, then yeah...more complaints upon more complaints.
In reply to the original point of this topic, female Viera is all the franchise has ever known since its debut. While it is highly doubtful that the released race will be female only, I'd fully expect the large majority of Viera players to choose female. You can bet on there being a male counterpart only that he may not be as aesthetically pleasing. Some people find fun in choosing the male variations for some races because it's goofy fun worth frolicking in.
I mean it makes sense. Shadowbringers wants to get hype around it by announcing a new race.
Selling point 1: what is it
selling point 2: What does it look like
Bonus selling point: what do the males of that race look like.
They're just stretching a single feature over multiple sessions to get the most hype they can out of one single announcement.
Then they would have hinted at a reveal in Tokyo fanfest.I mean it makes sense. Shadowbringers wants to get hype around it by announcing a new race.

Instead they refused to acknowledge it at all, and when asked specifically about male Viera, he didn't say 'wait for more info' he said to 'read the lore in the game', which specifically says male Viera are so rare that no non-viera has ever seen one.
That to me clearly says that the reveal they're putting off to Tokyo, is in fact a separate, male-genderlocked race.
Add to this that Yoshi is clearly very chummy with Matsuno, who created the Viera and has never shown a male. He, like Yoshi, likely thinks that a 'male Viera would be weird' and doesn't want them to be made, so likely has a veto against them.
Further again, they may think that the vast majority would only play as female Viera anyway, so a male Viera would be a bit of a waste of resources, and would instead make a different male race that they might think would get more use and appreciate.

When did Matsuno ever say this?
And wouldn't the male-only race also be a massive waste of resources when people are supposedly more likely to play as a female?
The FanFest better comes fast... Comments get larger and larger... Imagination of male Viera start to get absurd. This thread needs a break - or me actually trying to catch up to comments. @_@
Read 'likely'.
Also, a male-Viera might be underutilized, but they might think they have an idea for something that would be more appealing to male gamers, than a bunny boy. They may be misguided in that assumption, but it wouldn't be at all surprising.
Ah, my mistake!
You're right, sigh, backwards thinking if that is how they're going. Just so unimaginative. A bara cat? After we already have a feline race that is based on lions in the first place? Eugh...
If they wanted to make the males more beastial and less cute they could have just Jackaloped them, ah well.

Had to do a little bit more research to look up the business concerning the cloak and the armor piece that have been added to Eureka. The leaker behind this one seems...weird. Their actions do not make sense, after leaking info from one company, they state their new workplace-so they can be fired from there as well? Them calling people stupid also was a bad look for them, and they left out information like the Ozma mount and other things that players would have wanted to know about. They certainly were not all powerful or in loop with most of what is actually going on in development.
They go on to talk about dancer and the tower as well. Right now although I’d love to see dancer, there’s not a lot to go off to hint at that job. Chemist, geomancer, or even beastmaster as a limited job all still have an equal chance of being added as dancer does.
As for the tower, I’m not sure how they mean to include it seeing as how it was a really old raid. That tower from what I remember was used to gather energy along with Dalamund to create a portal to the void for the Cloud of Darkness, and then a cat with Allagan blood sealed himself within. People say that one of the characters in an artwork is this same cat, but his gear resemble one of the AFs that were teased in Paris, which I assumed to belong to Samurai. Until the next patch drops in March, there’s no way to know what will happen with this information. They reveal so much yet choose to not say anything about the story within Shadowbringers itself...why restrain yourself when you’ve already shared so much? I’d rather not revisit the tower, and seeing as how we’ve been to Dalmasca, it would make sense for the warrior of light to continue their journey to Garlemald from there or Ala Migho, encountering Viera along the way as they pass through the Greatwood, where both genders live.
My position has always been that male and female Viera need to be added first as a complete race, and that I’d love for other races to be added later on with both genders as well. I do not consider gender locked races complete, since in FFXIV they would be outliers as opposed to a game like Tactics. That being said, if they do mess this up, I’m not afraid to call them out on their sexism and blatant disregard of what their players have been asking for after so many years if they mess this up. Male bunnies are too feminine? Too cute? Too much of a gimmick? Anyone could say the same thing about male cats, female roegadyn, and the entirety of the lalafell race. Are male bunnies too gay for them to make? Does the thought of drawing them gross the artists out? Are the developers going back on everything they’ve done up till now? To me saying “You look/act too ridiculous to be included with us“ just screams homophobia or some other prejudice. I hope they’re ready for whatever storm comes their way if that person’s leaks turn out to be true.
