Yes all that is lore friendly and belivable, but bunny boys some how are not
MAKE IT MAKE SENSE

Not to mention we're going to a world where lalafells are dwarves and fat miqotes are sitting on couches eating grapes... @_@ It's all crazy!tHe gAmE wOrLd nEeDs rEsTrIcTiOnS tO mAkE tHe tHe lOrE aNd tHE sToRy bElIeVaBlE

Just because there are cracks in the vase, it does not mean you need to pick up a hammer and bash it more.

So male bunny boys are apparently some all powerful, lore shattring hammer that will ruin the whole game lore for you?
Sounds like more of a cause of fragile masculinity than problems with the lore.
I play a Raen male.
The concept art of Viera male look even more masculine and amazing.
Nor did I say that Viera male is some hammer breaking a vase, but the point is that I can understand SE wanting to adhere to the lore with Viera male being extremely rare and mythical, and to make it believable they lock the gender as to not have the playerbase interfere with that illusion.

I don't get why that's the line for them though they've already broken that lore line with other races.I play a Raen male.

Yes, like miqo'te and roegadyn receiving their gender counterparts, which was a good thing.
But that does not mean it has to be done again, is my point.
I can appreciate the uniqueness of Viera being female only, and Hrothgar male only, adding another spin to playable races, like how Blue Mage made another spin to jobs, whether people like it or not.
But having male Vieras would not have bashed it. They do exist. (Otherwise Vieras could not reproduce) The WoL is also someone with no defined past. Who is to say that a male Viera WoL did not just receive visions and decided that it would be better to the forest if he helps Eorzea? Or maybe he is just a Viera that never felt to be part of the forest and simply left. I mean the WoL being a male Viera would not mean that we suddenly have Viera NPCs everywhere.
Then why not just write it that no males exist because the reproduce different from us? Why tell us that males do exist but then dont give it to us?
