Gender locked race?

I hope its gender lock ... such a weird design, weird animations ... eyes are so far inside the skull you could build a pool and looks like their hands have arthritis... just to please the cry babies ...

Ok I can understand if someone doesn't want male vieras, but to insult all male miqo'te to prove your point is just silly IMO. Also, insulting other people "crybabies", really ?

I happen to agree. Male Miquote look very odd/strange. They definitely seemed very "forced". They really weren't necessary at all, and ended up ruining the lore (males rarely if ever leave their ancestral home). Now they've done the same thing with the Viera lore (males don't leave), and I REALLY hope they stick with it.

the same way you can insult an artist by ripping their work in half despite you never making a commission. some people do put effort into how they look the least you can do is just be quiet if you do not like how someone looks especially if its a random person you have no clue on. They have never said males do not ever leave the wood stop pulling imaginary lore from nowhere.

1) I'm not the person you were originally talking to, so don't accuse me of insulting people. (I was simply agreeing to a point with the person you WERE talking to)
2) Agreeing that the male Miquote design is not of a high quality is not an insult to anyone. It's simply a critique of rushed and poorly made decisions by the entire TEAM, not any particular artist. Critiquing something is not insulting it. The only way anything ever improves in this world is by critiquing.

3) I didn't make anything up at all, so once again, don't falsely accuse me. Maybe you haven't done the Orbonne Monastery quests or you skipped the dialogue. Because it says plain as day in there that the male Viera don't leave the Greatwood.

I'm fairly certain female miqote are by far the most popular, and then male hyur, then female hyur, and then male miqote. At least looking at a recent okay census (will be biased against side characters that are just for RP and not content), an iffy census, and very old SE cenus which doesn't reveal what race gender break down just race popularity (in 2014 hyur was equal to miqote), suppose at the bottom of the barrel of references is also my anecdotal experience that miqote females are everywhere.. everywhere lol.

All of which I think just follows a general trend were there are large groupings of fairly normal pretty races and then a large collection when total'd (if given the possibility) sitting on weirder races (the "other" races when added together equate to almost half the population, showing the desire for other is high but the unity of what the best "other is".. is very low lol).

The existing 1.0 races were given the opposite gender with ARR, they've gone to lengths to remove genderlocks on clothing items, and to top it all off, the top contender for the male only race being ronso makes LESS sense than male viera being playable.

There is also a quote from Yoshida after they unlocked miqote/roe that said he might gender lock Viera. So.... ... While I'm not certain on the chance I think to be certain there is no chance they wouldn't do it again, when they said they might.. I think that's too certain . I think it's less likely, some people think it's more, but having seen Yoshida deliver on old thoughts with such high accuracy before (blue mage, lol) - I believe he could do it.

Also be careful about swearing (may risk getting GM ire).
