Lupins are wolves
there is concept art for male viera looking like rabbits

Concepts do change over time but that level of dimorphism would be out of place in FFXIV, where the biggest example of sexual dimorphism is the height differences between male and female Au'ra. The mane idea also, while neat, is also unlikely given that SE is allergic to potentially allowing assets to clip unless it's a cash shop item.

Im disappointed that they actually left out any questions regarding the male race in the eorzean question time. I dont mean like "Do Male Viera exist?", this would just end up the same answer we got from the interview/press conference last night.
But at least someone could of asked how his stance is towards gender locked races. Pity this didnt happen. It would of give some light to this situation at least..
From my understanding they did answer the question yesterday by saying that more about it will be revealed in Tokyo. Sure, I hope it's male viera and not "gender locked race number 2 but male", but I think based on the previous stuff about Roes and Miqos, it'll be vierasIm disappointed that they actually left out any questions regarding the male race in the eorzean question time. When it comes to the males I wonder if they will be manly or just female with flat chest ? I mean based on the lore they aren't that different until puberty, I think someone also pointed that out.
And I don't trust the sketches, when you see what they've done with the Au'ra, I'm feel catfished.
Huh... given how successful catboys and femroes are, you would've thought devs learned that gender-locked race is not a good idea. For all parties involved, I hope we'll see male Viera in the near future. I have to say though, FF14 is starting to look... different(?) from the other FF series and more akin to Korean MMO. If I don't know what a Viera is, I would've assumed these pictures/footage were from random kMMO.
Its very jarring at this point when you compare player characters to NPCs in the world. Cohesion has definitely been lost in the game.Huh... given how successful catboys and femroes are, you would've thought devs learned that gender-locked race is not a good idea. I blame the gear choice. As much as I like Fran I don't think her outfit should have been the Viera racial outfit at all. This would have been a much better option that, if following the brown-black-white-red color scheme of the other race's gear, would fit XIV's aesthetic much, much better in my opinion.Huh... given how successful catboys and femroes are, you would've thought devs learned that gender-locked race is not a good idea. Also the fact that since Heavensward everything is a flying mount. I was okay with certain mounts being able to fly and most of em made sense t o be able to. But now everything is a stupid looking flying mount and I hate it.
