Somebody told me that the reveal teaser actually did show both male and female viera. Instantly my mind was blown by the realization. Well, people have also asked for male characters to wear female clothes too I suppose.

It absolutely does not. People are taking a bit of lore about Viera out of context, and thinking that male Viera look like female Viera.
The lore states that up until they reach age 13, you can't tell a female Viera from a male Viera (with the implication that after puberty they start growing more masculine or feminine features). All of the Viera shown in the trailer are very clearly post-puberty and very clearly have female attributes.

They're not going to let us play as 10-year-olds.

I hope we see male viera in tokyo. This victorias bunny secret video seemed strange without them. Maybe tokyo fanfest will have the abercrombie equivalent. Im hoping they just werent ready yet

Someone pointed out that all the female faces shown were basically from the same preset over on tumblr, and on closer inspection they very much do look like the same face but with slight changes.

So either we have another Female Elezen situation, in which case I will CRY, or they potentially aren't done fully implementing the race and just wanted something to show for fanfest. Which could mean that the males weren't revealed for similar reasons. It's a thin stretch at best but it is slightly more palatable even if it boggles the mind that the new race isn't done just five months out. We'll have to wait till Tokyo fanfest to see however.

It looks like a race specific tattoo. A couple of the races have face presets that come with tattoos, like Highlanders.

I’d be fine with female only.
When I made my character, Miqo’te did not have males as an option.

If they really do have male Viera waiting in the wings for a later reveal, this is all they had to do:
- Viera trailer finishes playing
- Koji: "Wait, but there were only female Viera in that trailer, what about the males?"
- Yoshida pretends not to hear and then moves on with the presentation.
That's all we needed, we would get the message. "Male Viera are coming, we'll show them later". They didn't need concept art or anything. By completely avoiding any mention of the males it gives rise to the strong possibility that there are no male Viera at all and they're dodging the question.

Perhaps it is a cultural behavior since there were so many requests from players around the world to play their bunny males maybe they want to make YOU a surprise on Tokyo presentation, if we think rationally the company would have a financial problem if they didn't attend this majority specific request from YOU all to play YOUR bunny males.

Now lets not type logically and hypothetically if they do not add the Viera male the community must find a way to negotiate with the company showing how the bunny male are important for YOUR play satisfaction and without over-dramatize, over-react and specifically respecting the others work while creating everything new just for you.

You can start collecting ideas because for what I understood players that made such request have an ideal in their minds to describe their perfect bunny male and with a consensual list of characteristics that match the game lore concept you can help the company create YOUR bunny male from the scratch.

It's a win win situation.
