I can't Speak for YoshiP, but Im guessing that we get Male Ronso just to counterbalance the Viera so they arnt the only 1 gendered race.

The JP side aren't happy about the genderlock either. Hell if you watched the key note you'll notice the JP players weren't exactly too excited or thrilled about any of the announcements.

Japan is different in culture, JP player base is not as vocal about things as US and EU. Japanese as a whole do not get as "loud"

I'm excited for the new races though I'm equally disappointed in both races being gender-locked. I got a feeling that they will be implemented in the future just from the amount of backlash in 1 day already..

So the leaks were 99% accurate if not 100%.
What's more infuriating is that Yoshi said years ago in an interview that didn't want to make male Vieras because they look weird for him.
Which makes the whole thing even more ridiculous.
Yoshida seems that he forgot that he develops for us and not for him or his team.
Seems all the XIV success took it's toll on him and he went deaf and blind to simply ignore what the fan base wanted.
We are slowly going back to the 1.0 mistakes with gender locking.
Him and his team need to stop treating everything they develop like their own personal sexual taboos.

Personally, I don't care about Male Viera, they have been mostly non-existent since previous FF games, and isn't it in the lore that they don't really associate with others? That would be pretty lore breaking, just for the sake of making Westerners Happy. I think the only way they would come out of seclusion is if there was a total world ending event that they can recognize as their problem and need to collaborate with others to fix.
We aren't QUITE there yet, but looking at the Map towards the end at the far right, that might happen...so we MIGHT get them later.

Female Hrothgar/Ronso...Im on the fence. I have a Cat bias, would love to play a female...but they arn't NEEDED. Plus I think they were just made in the first place just to counterbalance the female only Viera

Lore isn't a valid excuse. Male miqo'te and all duskwright elezen are elusive/rare and we can still freely play them.
