Whatever they do, just know, that there is room in the code for two new races with both genders.
So even if they genderlock Viera and Hrothgar now, it's possible to undo that in 6.0 or onwards, and it's simply a matter of time and resources.

There's just one chance to leave an impression though.
If they are smart, and can jump out of their comfort zones, they can make a big reveal this upcoming fanfest and gain a lot of positive feedback. Feedback in form of subscribers, more expansion sales and especially fantasia's.

well, adding male Viera after announcing female Viera does seem like the smartest thing to do. They know people are going to be asking for them. What isn't smart about that?

High lander body shape with about same size is au ra is my guess

i do remember one of the leaks did say "they are not quiet ronso but are inspired by them"
so if they truly are inspired by them they are big race but they are not Roe size
like Kimahri isn't that much bigger wakka or auron

ALSO odd to me to make a male lion race gender-lock when male lions are a bit more rare compared to female lions
