I don't see why people keep citing lore as to why we can't get male Viera. Male Mi'qote have nearly the same issue but are possibly the most played male character race in the game. Many times it has been stated in previous lore panels that the WoL stands apart from lore restrictions. There is only one WoL but a few million players, the WoL is a Male Highlander and has always been... until he fantasias into a Lalafell female... which she has always been according to all npc's. Point being, lore can be rewritten, player demand will see to that.

Lol we know. We know the lore is the same for male Miqo and there aren't any white mages/dark knights etc. Every time someone makes a lore post the exact same opposite lore post is made. If male Viera don't show up it'll be because the dev team said so.

Until they are repeatedly hammered at until they eventually give in. Even if it's not for male Viera then certainly for female Hrothgar; unless they're going to make the lore for them 'Females don't exist; they sprout from the ground.'

If it doesn't fit their vision for the game, they simply won't do it no matter how often they receive requests. I don't doubt that the recent change in the Terms of Service is, to some degree, intended to mitigate such things. Especially given how many chose to react to Eureka and BLU.

All I see is someone just said the lore is evidence the dev team said "no" to male Viera. This is hard to understand for some reason, and then you get people going on about "but the lore!", white mages and miqo'te even though that's got nothing to do with what was argued in the first place.

Yeah, I fully expect anyone who wants male Viera to rise up against the man. I was just saying complaining about the lore posts with opposite lore posts is something we have seen like 5x by now and really it's the dev team's whims as to what will happen not the lore.

I think people are just saying that using the lore as justification for excluding the race isn't a good excuse. You're supposed to be the only white mage of your generation when you can't walk down the street in Kugane without bumping into 6 others. Male miqote are supposed to be several times rarer than the females because of a lower birth rate, and yet you'll find numerous shirtless ones afk in every zone in the game.


So them trying to tell us, "oh, we didn't want to make male Viera playable because it conflicts with the lore" is a lie. :v They must have their reasons, no doubt, but no one is going to buy that one if they try to spin it that way. I won't at least.

The main issue is that when asked about male Viera, Yoshi P said to look at the lore that was in the game.
SE might ignore the lore in some cases, but in others they don't, it's pretty hit and miss, but here we have an indication that the lore is being followed.

Doesn't mean gender-locking tho. He could simply meant that we can check the lore to see if male viera exists, which the lore did say.
From what I remember, the interviewer asked about how male viera's gonna appear, and he said to check the lore.
