In all honesty there isn't much difference between Viera and Miqo'te, Veria are mostly just just a little bigger and look bit more mature.

It's a self-fulfilling prophecy - design the males that way and that's how they'll end up. I was pretty satisfied with the 2015 concept art they cooked up.

I agree. It kinda looks like, but also proves another point. Maybe we dont want a new race, we just want more face options, more variety on current races. And ofcourse some rework of the proportions (Giraffe neck). And maybe movement animations as well (stiff Hyur).

Agreed on that. I still would love for a muscle size (not just tone) slider, within parameters that make sense for each race, as much as I know it will never happen given where things are.

I for one hope that Hrothgar will be buff cats, for me Roe is too big, Au ra are the right height but too skinny and Miqo'te look like teenagers. I really hope they don't go with genderlocking but I do hope that we get something akin to Byakko.

I know people want male Viera and I do hope you guys get what you want but if Hrothgar is Buff cats I would Fantasia in a heartbeat.

I would like a race more fierce looking and acts more animalistic. Miqote and au ra are too cutesy. (not that I don't like cutesy, I just think a fierce animal like race would be a refreshing change.) If Viera ends up with fiercer animations and nicer voices, then I would roll it.

TBH if I'd have to choose, I'd rather have more customization options for current races before they add new ones, especially if the new ones will be gender-locked.

Perhaps SE should consider to alternate between new hairstyles and other customization options for every major patch instead of just hairstyles every time.

I do not think male roes are inherently comic relief but the way the writing is with regards to them does not help i'd love to see a male roe become a permanent main stay that i can take seriously i loved Gosetsu in SB and wish for more of him.

Well i do share the hope that we'll see Gosetsu come back at some point. At least in similiar capacity to Estinien, aiding the WOL as necessary.
And of course, another male roe NPC with significant role will be most appreciated.

I do wonder if we'll see more of Rammbroes, since the leak suggest we'll get more of the crystal tower storyline.

The video makes their emotes look rather soft/delicate IMO. I do hope I'm wrong. D:

The females already aren't very different from the other races, but that's what we have. If they hold males to a different standard, where they MUST look the part of fierce forest protectors (which the females are also supposed to be and the trailer has shown they didn't really capture that aesthetic), we get another Au Ra situation. The constant "soft cutesy female/big fierce male" dimorphism is something I've been thoroughly saddened by since I played my very first 3D MMO on a dumpster fire of a computer in 2008. Genderlocking so our options are "soft sexy bunnygirl/big beefy cat men" does exactly this as well. The concept art we saw was absolutely fine.

(That MMO was Perfect World International by the way god help me I did not play it long)

I mean, the concept art men looked pretty fierce and big too, though. Not sure what you're wanting, from the start of your post it sounds like you wanted softer men instead of the usual. Unless you mean you wanted the little boy viera concept art. Which nah no thanks, already playing a lala lol.

I think they meant that they prefer both genders to be somewhat similar characteristic in appearance. Either both are fierce looking or both are cute looking. If the female viera (both subraces) stay as they are in the trailer (sexy cute bunny girls), then make the male more fierce and rough, vastly different than the female, it'd be just repeating the old trope of cute female/rough male like the Au Ra.
