Gender locked race?

I want buff bunnies. Like, as ripped as highlanders but taller. Think that would be a good complement to how Viera females look since the race has such a fierce look to it.

Basically my WoL wants to go live with the buff bunnies in the forest please.

That's what I am hoping for, too. I'd even be alright with an elezen type physique.

I want something between Au Ra and Highlander: buff, but with a slightly slimmer waist. Preferably with ear choices and length sliders cause I hate how horns are locked both to face and a fixed size

YES! I want them to be built for agility without compromising upper body and leg strenght, so a little like Au Ra proportions without the whole horns/ears being tied to faces ruining my day.

Er, no. I don't like how Roegadyn look. I like beefy men who are classically handsome but not bizarrely proportioned. Highlander men are the sweet spot in terms of physique for me but their lack of eyebrows and the fact that they suffer from a dire case of 'same face' puts me off of them. You keep trying to desperately paint Roegadyn as looking like Pantera as an excuse not to add them. I'm thoroughly confused - since they look nothing alike and you then go on to post a picture that looks exactly like a Miqo'te but with bunny ears instead of cat ears. By your own logic, we shouldn't have bunny men added either.

You know what I really get out of this thread . . Highlanders are almost perfect. . Yes... stroke my ego yes... :3

But please don't mention my eyebrows, it brings me shame lol.

I think we should step back from the whole, 'well this can be this but I can't make this' argument, as it doesn't add anything and can be turned on its head for both sides.

Ultimately this though.. Viera shouldn't exist if a lion-like ronso-like, possibly pantera-like, race shouldn't exist due to look-alike options.

True you can't get good bunny ears, but also true that a Roe doesn't make a great lion-race either, and eyebrow paint for highlander looks professionally derpy . . imo. . lol. "it sort of works if you cross your eyes" just isn't good enough sometimes haha.

If Hrothgar are added, I wonder if they'll have any speech quirks like the Ronso?

As long as it isn't as bad as the limsa speech, I know they toned it down a bit but I had to get the out of there when I first arrived and started to do quests . . .

Limsa NPC talks = my eyes slowly rotating up into my skull and my skip button being pounded, I'll check the quest markers to see what I need to do thanks lol.

Although I don't hate that they tried to add flavor in text, personally if it was all voiced I'd be okay with it.. but reading it is just painful XD.


The thing I'm curious about is let's say they do gender lock the race. I'm assuming they're going to give a reason for it.. right? Now if they didn't somehow make it "literally impossible" to have the other gender in lore (which would of course make people really upset), I wonder if they'll announce plans to do something about that lock later. I said that I imagine saying why and what their plan would be if it's locked would disable most of the hate train, but also thinking about it.. what's their plan if they announce a genderlock? I can't believe it's not say why and have no plan to change it lol.

Dunno, maybe I sold myself the idea but I just feel that'd be too wild of a ride for Yoshida to take us on lol. At least we should be hearing why and perhaps what will happen.. If it's locked. Although I feel the hype train would go super sonic if it's not locked, what an announcement that'd be lol.

Not sure what bearing that has on anything. Wanting differentiation between races and cultures precludes someone from playing a midlander?

If anything, the game's combat system makes it closer to WoW than anything else; adopting a design element that allowed Blizzard to differentiate races more would be a positive.

WoW's race intros are MUCH better than FFXIV's imo.... They get you into action and goofy things pretty quickly and each area feels radically different. I still like FFXIV more as a whole of course, that's why I'm here, but just my imo WoW has a better start (if you ignore graphical style).

I think lalas are intimidated by the potential height of the male Viera. they stand a chance of being the tallest race in the game, widening the height gap even further. there's no other explanation :v

I suspect it is up to the original poster to decide what the thread was meant to be about, not those hijacking it so they can try and force their own ideas onto everybody else. I'm not at all surprised that there is excessive tone policing at play, though. It's a very common tactic these days!

This would be ideal imo. Everyone gets what they want.

… but that's assuming we get male Viera in the first place. ;-;
