This something i have said time and again... There are a few who desperately want the option of more bestial races, however simply by virtue of the mog station items, i feel it's something that isn't worth the effort to please a vocal minority.I've said as much in this thread and on reddit: The most popular male races in NA/EU/JP are the "cute" ones. Similarly, the most popular female races are the cute ones. Its almost as if people who are attracted to final fantasy games are used to playing as anime-attractive protagonists :3c

We need only look at designs many (including myself) deliberately spend extra money for.
It's obvious that the design team has a specific theme and aesthetic, bestial character races simply do not fit that. Can anyone seriously imagine Lupin males and females wearing any of those items above?
Perhaps better in motion?
How about a comparison with an already in game model?
I just don't see how the could meld together in the same game. To say nothing of how to model said outfits to these more "unique" models.

I'm not a furry but you haven't seen the ... passion . . . they might have to overcome that issue. Just check out the patreon of some furry predominate creators lol, it's a pretty strong market for being Niche. This something i have said time and again... If SE was so lucky to find they had some of their audience that were that way then.. Yeah I think their mog station would be fine :P.
Even if it looks weird to you, but to be fair I think everyone in a bikini glamour in dungeons looks weird to me and I've somehow lived this long in the game lol.
That said I think they're going to go more Lupis/Pantera (BLESS) than full on snout if they were going to make a bestial race. In which case seeing what you described on them would actually look just fine, not that weird really.
What's the exchange rate for salt passes? I think we're going to need some of those too. Even if we get male Viera/Hrothgar that it might not be what people were hoping for xD.

It's not an issue with the passion, it's the lower level of definition and facial emotive ability that makes it seem so undesirable to me people actually wanted Lupin as a playable race... literally a dog head on a human body...I'm not a furry but you haven't seen the ... passion . . . they might have to overcome that issue. I agree, Lupis/Pantera are the most bestial FFXIV will go.
At any rate, i feel gender locking either Hrothgar or Viera would be a complete mistake. The player demand would be overwhelming, and the eventual implementation would just lead to wasted time and sullied reputations/ negative press SE doesn't need.

I just don't really get this point. Which male races that we currently have are "cute" besides lalafell? I think mooost people don't expect this super furry race and probably more of another human with a mane, but linking a bunch of female outfits to prove that the playerbase wants male Viera doesn't make much sense? This something i have said time and again... Jesus, look at all those pretty boys. Pretty/Handsome sells. A like Viera where the females are damn 'fine' and it'd be expected for the males to look 'damn fine' as well - think of the money damn it. Give us pretty handsome lean bunny men. No, shota/loli just nope.

No you must get lil boi:
Those men with ears would be too cute, but little bunny boi absolutely not cute at all. TAKE IT!
hehehehe
If SE is confident in what they're delivering in the Japan FanFest I hope they troll us first lol. Like if they're going to deliver a male Viera they're sure is pretty great, just show us some train-wreck first haha.
Now if they're not going to deliver male Viera then a troll would be a bad choice, like a sort of "dont you guys have phones?" moment.
. . . .
no u

I just want everyone to bookmark this thread and come back March 22nd to see who gets what they want. Everyone gets one free gloat pass.
