Gender locked race?

In reality all we want is improved character creator features, more faces, more freedom about choosing eye, mouth, nose shapes, maybe sliders to certain aspects and especially changeable race characteristics as in different ears, beards, horns, body hair...
I think after Viera, it is time to open a Show your support thread to improve the CC and also rework old races...
But for now patience. :/

if Viera (and hrothgar) are truly the only last race
it is the next step just to improve the CC
more face option,add some of the face exclusive options to others etc etc

That would be a 1st for ffxiv be interesting to see a race that has exactly the same max and min height for both genders would mean to put more emphasis on physical differences between them

I wouldn't mind a cross between Aymeric pretty boy and Hein - I want his facial hair. Bah, it's not exactly hard for them to create 'pretty handsome' men, they've done it before multiple times. Example of the top of my head that was the closest in Viera hairstyle etc that I could think of.

Personally, I think a mix of highlander + au ra would suit male viera the best. Very tall and fierce looking, but muscular. That's what I picture when I think "guardians of the forest" anyway.

Or they could make them look like the big chungus. :v "Big Chungus" is a top tier male Viera name regardless.

I actually like the idea of the males looking more 'attractive' than the females. Though here's a thing, if they're so rare in number and the likes. Who fights for whos attention? Do females have to compete with other females to get a males attention? One line the Dramaturge shared was regarding 'souls' so I thought of took it that they had soul mates or something and perhaps bonded with a specific female? But at the same time? Hmm... It honestly makes me curious about how that works. Or is it futurama snoo snoo type of deal - then yeah, the dudes really need that damn endurance.


And yeah, I'm firmly against shota/loli type Viera. Just nope.

I would presume that if your species is majority female, the societal conventions we use as humans doesn’t work. If males are only 1-4 of all Viera, and the form monogamous pair bonds, then half of the pool of mature adults will be excluded from procreating. This would mean populations would die off unless that pair have at least 5 children together. More likely it’s probably accepted within the society that a single male will have many female partners. A single male probably will have 2-3 assuming they form bonds with each other at all.

With the males spending so much time away from the settlements, though, it’s more likely a single male may have relations with more females than that when he visits a village, and a female may do the same with whatever visiting male catches her attention.

It sounds to me like the male and female Viera aren't interested in having actual relationships with each other. Seems like they only interact for the express purpose of procreating. At least that is the vibe I got from the dramaturge.

From what I got from the Dramaturge is that they don't care about distance, or distance between the two bodies means nothing to them as they may be able to communicate through long distance thy Green Word?

Maybe that was it, I just missed the implication. It sounded to me like they wanted to avoid each other. Like the males only show up to make new babies and pick up the Viera boys who are old enough to leave the females. But if they're connected with the green word that would explain why they don't feel the need to be close physically.

Yeah, I guess we will see as we will more than likely get some information as we quest in the area, etc.
