YoRHa/NieR alliance raid 5.0

I'm mixed on this. On the one hand, cool. On the other, is it really that hard to try to come up with something that would fit into this Final Fantasy MMO? Like, I wouldn't have cared if they just did another fanservice-y type raid like Ivalice again, cause at least it was Final Fantasy. A big part of the content cycle will involve a completely different franchise?

Pretty much me.
I'd rather Final Fantasy fanservice over external fanservice.
But if they integrate the lore well enough it might win me over.

It seems we might not actually be delving further into Garlemald in Shadowbringers, in which case, if this is our main Garlean content, but styled as NieR, then that'd be alright.

I loved Nier Automata and am excited. I heard that there will be more to it just being a raid, whether or not the story is tied in to Nier Automata or not not 100% sure.
As for those that are saying why it is not relevant i would usually agree however we have had:
Power Rangers event, Yo-kai Watch, American Ninja Warrior (Ffxiv's take on it that is) and while these were just events they are in no way relevant to FFXIV.
Oh and we still have Monster Hunter as permanent content and Makai or whatever it be for PVP.

Still do kind of agree however that we should have more content and events actually related to FF, it has been getting crazy.

To get the true ending of the 24 man raid you have to delete your character though...

I'm going to be quite honest...the Void Ark storyline was their "original content" and it was, to me, fairly underwhelming from start to finish. Crystal Tower and Ivalice were both ideas taken from other games and they were great. I'm fine with them NOT doing original content from 24 man raids.

That still stayed within the Final Fantasy mythos though. Now we're going totally "oh we can't be arsed to make a raid, let's get another franchise to do it for us". This is just an other level of magnitude in which SE will not make any effort to bring something new to XIV. Hell, let's bring back Diadem again for 5.1x!
