I usually spawn a lot of S ranks myself, so I'm usually not affected when a player pulls on sight, which happens a lot on Siren. There's a lot of shouting matches that go on when an S rank dies before many players can arrive.I don't think there's an issue with S ranks dying too quickly. Just some people not moving fast enough for other peoples work.
I mean, if that's your end goal, just outright say it. But if your goal is to have a forced level sync for some other reason, it'd ruin a lot of feeling of progression from the player.
This happens almost exclusively with ARR and HW hunts. Stormblood hunts are never a problem because we're currently capped at 70. When we're capped at Lv80, it will be the same with SB.
ARR instances cap you at Lv50 or below by default, so why not extend this to ARR zones? You would still be able to destroy most ARR mobs at Lv50.
Well, you would be a Lv50 at max iLevel, so a Lv3 lady bug would still be weak to you and non-aggro.I remember this from Guild Wars 2 when I played it, and it was annoying. I was generally stronger the first time I stepped into a zone than I was when I came back many levels later, due to how secondary stats scaled.
Outside of hunts, what overworld content do you feel the need to be scaled down for, anyway? Already happens for fates. Do you really want lv 3 lady bugs to feel as "dangerous" as they were the first time?
I was thinking this would be a level sync only for disciples of war and magic.
Only Lv40+ enemies would aggro. Hunts are one of the most popular server community activities in the open world. Most of everything else is cross-world and instance based.Could we just remove hunts instead? Also a open world level sync means everything would aggro again... and that's something I greatly look forward to when my level cap raises is not getting aggro in old areas. If anything just make Hunts F.A.T.E. like and have it so you have to level sync for them instead. Which wont matter much cause even when you level sync something your gear will still destroy things.
I wouldn't mind seeing a system (Similar to the Novel/Anime Log Horizon teaching system) where you could scale down in level intentionally.
It's not only about not wanting to be OP. If high level wants to party with a low level friend, let's say, I'm introducing a friend to a game and run quests with them, they don't get exp if the level disparity is too high. Having everything on high level (as many active players do at this point) there's not option to go low class. Running alongside the friend without party is an option but somewhat boring one. I'd also like to be able to sync so I'd be on reasonable level compared to hunt targets (the normal mob ones) so I could level my chocobo on the side. And maybe just to make them a bit more interesting for myself. I'm actually against a forced global sync but would be nice to gave an option.

If you say 'pls' because it's shorter than 'please', I say 'no' because it's shorter than 'yes'.
An optional ability to scale yourself down would be fine (so you can play with friends without needing a class in their level range--not that I can think of any real reason why you might need this since FATEs and instances already scale you), but you're out of your mind if you want it to be automatic and mandatory, especially not for the sake of old, outdated content that most players ignore anyway.
Yes, but something can be said for not killing an S-rank before the person who spawned it can even get in range. Otherwise I agree.
With this character's death, the thread of prophecy remains intact.
Forced level sync? No.
Optional level sync? Sure, why not.
If it's the level sync, we get in non-70 duty roulettes where we get a significant portion of our skills gutted...please no!
It feels horrible to play jobs like this.
If it's a level sync where we keep our skills/gear but scaled, I might be in favour depending on how the scaling is done.
I can support some form of syncing for A and S rank hunts, but not universally across a zone. Let me continue travel and gather without risking face pulling mobs in old zones.
I've said it before, but the simplest and more effective method would be Party Sync.
Party Leader has a tick box in the Party Members menu:
"Sync party down to lowest members level."
