Just a thought: turn off PC (optional), unplug controller, boot PC, plug in controller - let USB reset and find it. Perhaps it will work now. USB and sleep mode sometimes messes up.

Just got finished doing this (even plugged the controller into a different usb port for good measure). No change.
I have seen from looking around that it might have something to do with the in-game controller settings being different than the desktop controller settings. But, I don't know how that would have changed overnight and also I have no clue how to fix it even if that was the problem.
