Keep gamepad enabled no longer works

Was running the game last night and had the "Keep gamepad enabled when client is inactive" setting checked and it was working. Was watching videos and still playing the game just fine.

Today I logged on and it was no longer working. The box is checked and settings are applied, but the game will not read input from the controller when the game is not the active window.

In between the time when it worked and when it didn't, did you change any other settings? For instance, are you using borderless when before you used fullscreen?

I'm assuming the controller will work as normal when you return to the game? What kind of controller are you using?

I didn't change any settings between those two times. I literally closed out of the game, put my computer to sleep and went to bed, got up and logged back in and it had stopped working.

Just logged in today after a complete computer shut down last night and it still doesn't work. I use a PS4 controller. Never had any issues before yesterday.

Just a thought: turn off PC (optional), unplug controller, boot PC, plug in controller - let USB reset and find it. Perhaps it will work now. USB and sleep mode sometimes messes up.

Just got finished doing this (even plugged the controller into a different usb port for good measure). No change.

I have seen from looking around that it might have something to do with the in-game controller settings being different than the desktop controller settings. But, I don't know how that would have changed overnight and also I have no clue how to fix it even if that was the problem.

Update: It's working now. Don't know what changed. Booted up the game this morning and it works fine.

Edit: Stopped working in the middle of playing.

I don't think so. It always works when the game is the active window, the only issue is when it's not. I'll try a different cable and see what happens.

Edit: Have tried 4 different cords. No changes for any of them.

And now the controller doesn't work, at all. This is infuriating.

Unrighteousvoid, are you experiencing this issue with just one controller? Or does it happen a different controller is plugged in to the PC?
