So...When are BRD Performance Actions going to be added to our Macro commands?

Seriously. I love this ability but I honestly dont have time to disassemble the songs i made during the first run PLUS practice with the new button combos. Meanwhile PC users can perform beautiful concerts with Midi files. I could do the same if only i could MACRO. Please give us this soon. <3

They specifically said they didn't want to add macros to Performance because they wanted it to all be skill based. Which was incredibly shortsighted of them, because of course PC users were going to use outside sources to auto-perform, and no one else would bother with it.

Technically those PC users are breaking ToS, but much like parsing, there's no way to prove it unless they actually say that's what they're doing in in-game chat.

Successful Macro'ing is itself a skill. Just like programming. Figuring out what notes you need in what sequence and what timing then testing it over and over...takes just as much effort. I mean, I get it. Reddit will probably make even that effort superfluous before long but its not stoping people from learning it the other way. Id much rather see more bard concerts which there is a distinct lack of on my server. The old way to do it was horrible but i could at least assign the sequence to my hot bar or even keybind it. As far as i can tell you cant even do that now.

I wish they would let us just autoplay notes from MIDI/text files like in LOTRO and Starbound.

It's impressive when someone is able to perform live despite the lag and input awkwardness, but... when you introduce an incredibly fun feature that only a handful of people are able to use at all, let alone to its fullest, that to me is wasted potential.

I feel macro'ing the songs removes the entire point of the Performance feature they added. I personally find a lot of joy mapping my keys to resemble a piano and learning songs I find through Youtube tutorials. That may just be me and maybe not a common opinion, but I don't think they'll ever support the ability to macro songs.

On my server, there is a person with 5 accounts that bots entire ensembles in Limsa. To each their own, but I'd find 5 people actually playing in sync more impressive than 1 person multiboxing 5 bards.

So far the things posted in the performance subreddit require a lot of effort and musical knowledge from the people making the files.

Another game with instruments is GW2, but they have explicitly allowed the use of macros with instruments, and they don't have a console base. For FFXIV I feel like they should allow the use of proper in-game macros for ease of use for console people.
