    Getting into Savage this late

So it's that time where we are patiently waiting for the next expansion and I am thinking about doing savage, but only Alphascape 1.0 so I can get a 400 ring to go with my other gear and get an all 400 set going into Shadow Bringers. My question is how viable is it to start doing savage this late in the cycle. I obviously can't join any farming parties having not cleared it yet. There aren't going to be any learning parties in the PF and if I make one will anyone even join it? I did manage to clear Deltascape 1.0, but that and Sigmascape 1.0. There is only one parse from each uploaded to FFlogs and they are abysmal, but I still cleared.

Just try. If you really can't find any learning party on your own, try running with FC members/friends and supplement with party finder.

If you were on Primal, my FC is looking for a DPS. We're almost cleared on O9S.

Any time is a great time to get started. I started playing the game last tier and joined savage pretty late in the tier and it was still a lot of fun. If you watch guides, join a good theory crafting discord, make an effort to learn I think you can progress pretty fast. There are very different level statics out there- from week 1 clears to statics that haven't cleared midgard or about to jump into savage so it shouldn't be too hard to find a group. You could also pug on the PF.

I see practice parties for O9S all the time in PF. I say watch a video to prep yourself, make sure you're geared enough, and ideally have some decent food/potions to help make life easier. I'd hold off on the food and pots until you've got the mechanics down, but O9S isn't too bad to learn. It takes time and a lot of deaths to adjust to savage but you can do it!
