Okay we are now a week away before The Fan Fest goes to Paris. Hopefully it will be better than when Harry Potter did the same. Anyroad the opening keynote will be way over an hour so we can expect lots of new info about Final Fantasy: The Crimes of Solus.
New race: Well we already know it will be the Viera, but it will be likely unveiled officially here. The good part is that we never saw any male viera before. Ever. So this might be a first time.
Also worth noting is that all the races were originally a single race that got fragmented. With Viera we will have seven playable races. Beside the universal lack of butts, they are supposed to have their own unique faults. Representatives of the seven deadly sins perhaps? Lala are greed definitely.
New Jobs: We will have three new jobs. Obviously. Each game release since 1.0 had three new jobs. ARR had Scholar, Summoer and Ninja. HW had Dark Knight, Astrologian and Machinist. SB had Samurai, Red Mage and Blue Mage (Yes, yes, limited job, who cares.) So it stands for reason that during the whole 5.X cycle we will also reach 3 jobs. Normal or limited.
Since SB released only DPS jobs, it stands for reason that we will get tanks and healers. If we do get a DPS job it will probably be a ranged physical DPS job, as that is the role with the least jobs in it.
So far we have seen the addition of six DPS jobs, two healers and a single tank. Even as a DPS main I think this is too much, so I wouldn't mind if we didn't get any DPS at all.
The gunblade job was very heavily hinted in the last fanfest and will most likely be unveiled now. I guarantee everyone will main one, cause gunblades are awesome. We have no idea of knowing the name. But what of the role? DPS seems to be a very obvious route, but as I explained we have enough DPS now. And two of the three DPS realeased in SB wielded swords. So tank? Maybe. But we already have two parry tanks (warrior and dark knight). And two sword wielding tanks (Paladin and dark knight). If it can bring something new to the table, I'm all for it. But if not, we would be better off with an evasion tank and Gunblader being a healer. That might sound dumb, but I like crazy classes.
So what level will the new jobs start at? A good question, isn't it? Let's see the levels added in each game. ARR added 100 (50 for ninja and 50 for summoner/scholar). HW added 10 levels for all previous disciplines (20 disciplines so 200) plus 30 for the new jobs. That's 290 levels to gain. SB added another 10 levels to the 23 disciplines, 20 levels for the full jobs, and 50 to Blue Mage. That is 320 Levels. Seven Hells! Now assuming Blue is pushed to 60, we get 10 levels to all the 26 disciplines. That is 260.
If we want to have as many levels to gain as Heavensward, we need 30 more levels. Since we know we are going to get 3 jobs, that means 10 levels for each. Sort of makes sense as the levels gained were decreasing by ten, with every expansion. So they could start at level 70 ready to go into the Shadowbringer content. Would make sense if we go where I think we will go.
Place: For a long time we were sure that we would be going to Garlemald. But now it seems more and more likely that we will actually be visiting another shard. Maybe the first shhard where the Warriors of Dorkness are from. If so, goodbye Allagan Tomestones. You don't even exist in this universe.
The Bad guy: We don't really know yet, but it will be either. Elidibus in Zenos' body. Zenos in the Elezen body, Emet-Selch in Solus' body. Or hell even Elidibus in one of the Solus clones ready for takeover.
Or somebody out of the left field. Somebody further out from the left field than even Solus was. Like idunno, freakin Lahabrea. Everything is possible at this point.
Beast tribes: We got to get another one. Fingers crossed for the PuuPuu.
Raid: No idea but I hope it will be an actual raid this time and not a series of arena fights like Omega. That sucked.
Alliance Raid: Hell if I know, but it will be very lore heavy.
Trial series: No info but having the four fiends finally, would be nice.
New Primals: If we go into another shard I would very much like to see different variations of the classic primals like Ifrit and Leviathan. If we get totally new ones, I vote for Anima. Hmmmm wonder what beast tribe would summon her. Which race loves S&M?
The gimmick: Well HW had flying, SB had swimming. No idea for Crimes of Solus. Will we even have one? The Doman reconstruction might be a prototype for base building. Like WoW Garrisons, only better. Eureka and Masked Carnival could be an experiment for elemental attacks.
After playing the new season of Mobius Final Fantasy where you can do attacks with your sub job without actually switching to it, I wondered if something like that could be possible for FFXIV. You know you pick a sub job and if some conditions are met you just temporarily switch out mid combat. Like the WoL in the trailer. That would be cool.
New Gold Saucer Attraction: ARR added the whole bloody thing. HW added Lords of Verminion. SB added fashion shows and Mahjong. What do you think? Will we finally get blitzball? Or will we just get a different casino in the new Shard? Serendipity does have Chocobo racing, slot machines and poker.
So what do you all think? What are you looking forward to the most?
EDIT: I'm dumb and forgot an important question
New Cities: After Revenant's Toll, The Holy See, Idyllshire, Kugane, the Doman Enclave and Rhalgr's Reach where will we waste time waiting for ques to pop? If we go to Ilsabard I would guess places like Midgar, Deling or even Zozo. If we go to the shard, all bets are off. My two personal favorites would be Wutai and Mysidia.
