trash the parley thing and put the card game that we had in FFVIII you dont need to think a lot it has already rules and playing mechanics, make it so we can duel anyone, dont allow trading only after loosing and make it so some mobs drop em like very rare drop

Totally agree, that card game was pretty cool.

    I dislike Parley.

I see why it was implemented to help crafters progress through the main scenario.

But realistically are you going to fight the final boss at parley and they give up after being beaten at a game?

Look at the beast tribes. They killed people, they've attempted to kill people, vastly largerly skilled in magic, they can summon primals... yet a simple game of chance makes them reveal everything?

Mr. level 36 casting amamja'aal gives up after losing a card game to a level 20ish Thaumaturge back when fighting a mob 3 levels above you would wreck you.

I have no idea what anyone sees in parley. It's a painfully bland and unfun minigame that has no business being anywhere near a AAA title. It's the sort of thing one would expect to find on one of those dreadful 1990s "1000 Great Games" CDs. I can only imagine one of the old team developers has a 7-year-old child learning how to program who created it and Dad put it in the game out of pride. I implore the current dev team: no matter how gifted you think your kid is, just stick their drawings on the fridge and leave it at that.

Parley is an alright mini-game but it more often than not is a borderline insulting mini game. I have only seen one quest where I had to even remotely think about how to fight off of the NPC. Most of the time when it's used NPC pick the lowest options and make it one long drag. I already won on the first turn, what's the point? Where are those "abilities"?

Make it more challenging, and put more depth into it. I hate it currently though due to how damn easy it is.

The problem with parlay is not the speed, its not that its too simple and its not that its boring.

The problem with Parlay, is that it doesn't give you anything worth getting and it isn't available against nearly every NPC in the game.

They need to expand on Parlay,

Give it the ability to return specific targeted rewards.
Make difficulty = the amount of return(hard = more quantity back)
    Give it multiple purposes
    Take it out of quests
Make nearly every NPC in the game have some reason to Parlay(Lowering NPC Prices, Raise Selling prices, Making Gil, Betting One Item Agaianst another)

This game should never remove anything no matter how simple or useless it seems. We should only be adding things and Expanding the purpose of thing that have been implemented.

Teh problem is that its the only sort of content for gathering/crafting besides well you know...gathering and crafting..Pretty sure they just threw it in there cause its the only thing they had up their sleeves for crafting/gathering quests. So i agree; parley is extremely mind numbing.

Pretty surprising to me that so far more people voted in favour of parley than against it. How can anyone enjoy clicking on the highest number that pops up, wait ~20 seconds and repeat? Even if SE would make the AI much more aggressive, it would still pretty much always be best to just pick the highest value. There's no room for skill or strategy in that game.

I like the concept of having to parley with NPCs in certain situations, but really really hope they'll replace or redesign the current mini "game".

Speeding it up would be nice. Also, some of them for quests are just retarded "hard"....and by hard i mean annoying. Also, why can't we parley with other players? Wager gil or gear, whoever wins gets it. Reminds me of the game tables in XI, i always liked those even though they never got very popular.
