We need minigames in FFXIV as long as there if a reward. They could make it like chocobo digging was, hidden levels. As long as it is worth doing, someone will take advantage of it.

To simply remove it would not resolve the lack of minigame content in this game.

Again, I'd rather see it removed and replaced with something more fun and challenging. If they can't do that in time I'd personally rather have it removed and just talk to a NPC, than have to play it ever again in its current state. But hey, those who have voted would rather it stay....

I thought it was pretty fun. If there are nice collectible rewards, I would go challenge every NPC for it.

Looks like all you parley lovers got your wish:

    ≪Paladin≫

    Quest NPC Location
Honor Lost Jenlyns Ul'dah Hustings Strip (6,5)
Power Struggles Jenlyns Ul'dah Hustings Strip (6,5)
Poisoned Hearts Jenlyns Ul'dah Hustings Strip (6,5)
Parley on High Ground Jenlyns Ul'dah Hustings Strip (6,5)

Hopefully this doesnt actually involve Parley in its current state

But... but... I LOVE PARLEY. *insert a slew of insults here*

I don't know why I like it, but for the most part, unless you're specifically doing a CRAFTING class quest, you get to 'choose' whether you have to fight or not. So, if you hate Parley, just choose the fighting option. If you like Parley, you can choose that instead.

As far as 'insulting my intelligence'... killing quest monsters is pretty much a no-brainer too, right?

I personally would have liked Parley a lot more if every choice didn't take like 3 minutes to process. And if it were a bit MORE involved in the story, as it is it looks like a minigame that's too tacked-on for no good reason, there needs to be better execution overall, but the idea is good.

If only parley was like Romancing Saga 3's market mini-game would of loved it...

Okay, in regard of parley: imho i think it had to be simple, most of its uses are with beastmen, and then it could be layer based, so you can suggest to the player a complexity level for greater reward. I think the items idea works awesome with parley NM's, like a quest of some sort where you can gain rank and play special NPC's to gain items only offered through higher level of complexity of parley.

I'm not a fan of parley but then again I'm not a fan of the crafting minigame. If we had a great crafting minigame I'd sooner see us having 'craft offs' (think dance offs but with sewing needles!) as quest tasks rather than parley. Again, on the condition they give us a crafting minigame that is fun.

Apologies to anyone that likes the current crafting game but I have to keep myself entertained with other games (DS games etc) while crafting).

Agreed that crafting is not "entertaining" as is, at least not when crafting a ton of stuff in a row, such as when you're leveling it. But at least it is now a workable system where you can level up relatively quickly and have an achievable, understandable goal when attempting to HQ (unlike before where crafting was a huge grind to level and completely luck based when trying to HQ).

That said, I don't really need/care for crafting to be "fun" in the sense that I'd rather do that than do a sweet battle encounter.

Also, it doesn't actively anger me.

Parley actively angers me, always has, and for all the folks who think parley is awesome as is, I guarantee you that if they put a more fun mini-game in its place you would like that a lot better.

According to the 2.0 roadmap, parley is one of the things they were going to do... something... with. And should theoretically already be "done", though we won't see the results until 2.0 launches.

That said, I hope they do put something more fun in it's place. The current version of parley is 1) not difficult, 2) takes forever to play out, and 3) doesn't make any sense.

I mean, me bringing up the topic of sour aldgoat milk 13 times is going to make some kid jump out of a tree? What?

Also, there's always an obvious "strongest" move. You just choose that, pray the AI is too stupid to make similar choices, and kind of wait it out. It's not like you have to think. It's arguably worse than all the quests that make you wander all across the world just to click on people and walk around the world some more.

So, please please please replace parley with some sweet mini-game that is fun to play and actually makes sense in the lore of the world. No one is going to believe that yammering about broken pickaxes a couple thousand times is going to convince anyone to do anything other than murder you.
