I know it's not my data. That's not the point. The point is that per the licsense agreement that I signed there Will be No usage of third party programs. Now a third party program is gathering and condensing data related to my character for anyone to see.

It honestly doesnt matter what data it's gathering. It's a third party, gathering data in a game that who's tos States that there Will be No third party involved!

This is actually a breach of contract if taken directly.

If SE cared to take it down, I think they would have tried to do so at any point within the last 4 years. But they haven’t, so perhaps let them decide if its an endeavor worth pursuing. As I said before, another will just appear in its place should FFLogs be shut down. That would be inevitable.

Nobody would have cared if they'd just kept to themselves. God knows I didn't. Now since people are parading this around it's become a topic of discussion.

Add to the fact that you have to manually take steps to opt out of a program that isnt Even supposed to be there AND is against tos.

I mean, you can just go to your Lodestone profile and input “fflogs-hidden” in there if you don’t want to appear on the site. That’s it. Takes 5 seconds worth of your time. That’s actually something new they added because some people didn’t want to be on there.

Idc if people use parsers or whatever as Long as they don't force it on me, but a third party gathering my data without me knowing is a huge No-No. Doesnt matter what the data is.

Also please do not look up all the trackers that are tracking your every move when you're browsing any of Square Enix websites. That's full of 'third party's that are gathering your data.

Then, by all means, continue to complain about something that is unlikely to even affect you in your daily game play. It’s only something that really matters for Savage/Ultimate. But it’s unlikely they’ll do anything about it. Like I said, that site has been here for 4 years now.

Pardon if people don’t want to calculate 7~10 minutes (sometimes even 15~18 minutes) worth of combat data on their own, and would rather have something do it for them. That’s ultimately what it does. It just condenses the Battle Log into something that’s far more easy to read.

What rights do I have to a bunch of numbers in a video game? None. What rights do any of us have to these numbers in a video game? None. This information isn’t highly sensitive data like date of births or social security numbers.

But why does it matter to you?

Do you even do Savage/Ultimate?

If not then this has no impact at all on you.

If yes then you definitely want this, especially if you and/or your group is stuck on a certain mechanic. When you upload your parse you have your whole timeline of the fight and can see what everybody is using (or isn't) and what the boss is doing and all that.
You can see where you and/or other people in your group are making mistakes and causing a wipe.

Lastly you can also use this to improve yourself.


And that's pretty much the reason I play, to improve myself.

Now you're acting as if you or anyone else actually bothers reading the TOS when they start playing the game, which we all know is completely detached from reality. You just looked them up now that you became aware that fflogs/ACT exists.
