You dont need account with fflogs to hide your logs. 1. Go to the lodestone 2. Go to character profile and add FFlogs-hidden, save your profile. Done FFlogs will no longer show your logs after it updates.

Whoa, when did this change? :0 I don't remember this being an option before. This is a good way to allow people a choice in the matter.

I couldn't find it on the lodestone. I don't raid but the idea that people can actually upload something there without your permission or that you have to register on the site in order to opt out is a big turnoff. That shouldn't be allowed.

I just checked and it appears fflogs has changed their own policy when it comes to opting out: https://www.fflogs.com/help/hiding-characters/

Ideally we shouldn't have to opt out in the first place but not having to register on fflogs to do so is a huge improvement. I'm shocked that this isn't being talked about. Is it old news and have I been living under a rock?!

It's not being talked about more because it's mostly a non-issue save for those who act like they're entitled to their combat data and as if it's their characters and by extension, their property.

LOL you're using an illegal 3rd party device and it's fine. Not surprised you'd think that opting in wouldn't be the way to go and not have it be the other way around. I have 8 end game characters and am doing them one at a time at the moment opting out of a site I really want no part of.

I don't think any player owns data that originates in the game. I'm pretty sure we had to sign away our rights to it.

Combat data isn't fully private to the individual since other party members have access to it, but it's not fully public either since it's restricted to the party. For example, a conversation can be considered private even if multiple people take part in it and in many places permission from each participant is required to record and publish it for the whole world to see.

The players who collect and publish combat data have not obtained permission to do so from SE and have specifically been forbidden from using the software needed for this. If the data was public then surely it would be accessible without the use of forbidden software, like Lodestone data is.

The unfortunate thing is that hiding your logs tends to make people way more dubious of you then showing them.

I'd also prefer to hide my logs for personal reasons (My DPS is above average last I checked), but people were refusing to allow me into Deltascape savage groups on multiple occasions unless I unhid them.
