Eaten by people like me ;p
I was always the one to lick spoons, spatulas, and 'dispose' of bakery scraps. I have accepted this 'burden' and immense responsibility as a sworn duty, and I am no oath breaker! I'm all about the people.
If you're still quite new to cake decorating, I'd look for something about as simple as the shield you just did. Maybe try a moogle head laid flat? Or a Cactuar? Though a Chocobo might be pushing it.I'm pretty new at this, and since it was just for display--I didn't bother to fill it. I think maybe an hour to make? it felt like the time was flying!

I debated about adding the damaged part of the shield, but decided against it early on. I felt like it was more pure to leave it whole. I also thought about some of those silly little quotes about how 'new life' always blossoms where one has died to go with the flower theme, but at the end I just decided to keep things super simple.
----
Any suggestions on what kind of cake design I should do next? :3
Always start simple, no matter what. The more you practice, the more reasonably ambitious you can get.
Thanks! I appreciate the input. If you're still quite new to cake decorating, I'd look for something about as simple as the shield you just did. Maybe try a moogle head laid flat? Or a Cactuar? Though a Chocobo might be pushing it.

All the cake scraps basically get thrown away =(. I share some of the white/yellow cake pieces with my dog, but not too much. I don't want him getting sick.
Eventually, if this becomes a bigger YouTube channel and I'm making 3-5 cakes a week--I want to find a way to donate them to a foodbank or something. Or maybe provide birthday cakes for children on hard times. It sounds almost too good to be true, so I'm still skeptical of the idea. I'm sure the local Walmart wouldn't appreciate me basically pawning off cakes for free though.
you could try a Namazu cake!![]()
Well, the fun part about cake decorating is that you eat your own creations. It's what I do whenever I have to make my own birthday cake at work. You could either make cake crumbs with the scraps or freeze them and use them for something else later, like cake pops or bourbon balls. Crumbs if sealed up can stay in the freezer for about a month. Thanks! I appreciate the input.

Also I would probably avoid giving your pet any sort of cake, as it can make them sick.
