Stagnant Housing

If everyone can't have access to housing then nobody should have access to housing. The housing acquisition system is pathetic.

Everyone has access to housing. It's just not what you want because you feel entitled to more.

The only argument I can agree with is lack of gardening for apartments. If gardening is super important to you, I can see how you would want a plot.

But you wanting to feel special with the same amount of space as everyone else is not the same as you not having access to housing. Not to mention most people don't even hang out in their homes, decorate them or use them. You can pretend on the internet that you will but the data is different.

Frame your "argument" correctly. It's better to be like "im salty because I can't get my perfect house exactly where I want it" and then propose ways in which that can be remedied. Add value to the conversation.

Does anyone know if they’ve started the count down for the 45 days yet? I’ve got a character on Sargatanas but zero housing plots are free. I don’t want to get too far with this character on this server, work hard to build up over 1 mil gil - which is hard to do when you only have 1 hour or so to play the game every now and then each week after work and life is taken care of - and then zero houses are freed up. I’d have to start a new character on another new server and start all over again...

I agree with this post. My FC is on Cactuar and we've been looking for a house for a month now. Bout 3 and a 1/2 weeks ago a house came open on the server and we lost out to one of the multiple players and FC's camping on it. Then 2 came open and we lost those. Then there hasn't been an open house for sale on the server since. Can we at least get separate districts for FC's to make it easier for free companies to obtain a guild house? That or turn the timer back on.

No, they havent restarted the timer yet. Nor have they said when they would. With that said, you dont have to abandon the character yet. Theyve announced that when they reorganize the data centers this spring there will be free transfers available. So just play and save for now, and when that gets close you can consider doing some research on a good landing spot. The timer will also go back on at some point, with many players speculating that the 4.56 patch will be the time(since that should give some houses time to expire in time for the server transfer window).

Once the timer gets turned back on there should be smalls readily available on Sarg. I used to post in the housing census thread every few weeks for the server and before the timer freeze there was normally a good amount of smalls and the occasional medium. That said you are probably going to have to pay full price or close to it, especially if you want anything outside of the Goblet, so keep saving.
