    Alternatives to POTD

New player here. Just tonight I finally hit a wall going through Heavensward after reaching a main scenario quest that requires level 58 - I'm level 57. I've been tracking my progress and noting what's to come with a MSQ list on a fansite, and after getting locked out of the MSQ until 58 I decided it'd probably be a good idea to just get to level 60 so I can ride the main scenario all the way to Stormblood from where I'm at now.

I'm maining Samurai right now, with no class/job higher level than SAM currently, so I don't have the armory bonus - I figured either way, Palace of the Dead would be a fast and easy way to boost up to 60 from 57, because I remembered the last time I did POTD (which was in the late 40s) I was getting ~30-50% of a level per completion. I've done two tonight, and it's been incredibly disappointing and aggravating to only see myself get around ~10% of a level, because that means I'll have to do 15+ runs of floors 51-60 to get to level 60.

Is there any sort of alternative to Palace of the Dead that can get me to 60 from 57/58 quicker? I don't know that I can handle trying to chain run 15+ POTD runs with random groups just so I can get two/three levels.

Fastest alternative would be to combo the high value roulettes(preferably with a tank or healer friend along to get you the more friendly que times). A couple hours one night running through Leveling, Alliance, 50/60, and Frontline(with maybe Trials and MSQ tossed in) should be worth roughly a level and a half if im doing the math right(more then 2 if you clear the whole list). Just one night would probly be enough, because the exp you would get from the quests going forward should get you to 60 by the time you need it(i count 14 level 58 and 59 quests, one of which includes a dungeon). Best of luck!

Yeah. Also if you have folks to run with, doing the highest level dungeon you can can be a fast way to level in 1-2 runs (generally speaking). Also popping some food for the experience boost can sometimes make that little bit of difference.

When I was still leveling I would just do all my daily rous, and then hit up the highest level dungeon I had unlocked. I believe at 57 it's the Vault. Then after you reach 59 just run Gubal for the rest of it. Eat food during your runs so you get the bonus XP as well as use squadron manuals to get even more xp.

Yeah, using all the bonus exp sources available to you is always a plus. Food bonus, manual bonus, FC bonus, rested bonus... whatever you got.

A different alternative is doing sidequests, which I assume you've skipped if you've only got the one class and you've slipped behind the intended MSQ level. (I did them as I went, and I think I was gaining about a level-and-a-half per "MSQ level rise".)

You also will be able to access the Vath beast tribe quests (or will be after completing some sidequests for them).

And of course make sure you've caught up on your samurai class quests.

If you're queuing for dungeons as a DPS, you'll have some waiting time, so you can work on quests while you wait.
